who has the worst prospect pool in the NHL? Calgary? SJ? they hae tio be an option with all the big trades they have made over the years eventually the prosdpect pool will run dry. Philly? Where do they avs rank I know they have this years 2nd and 11th overall picks but they also dealt away a 1st and 2nd to the caps for Varlamov how much does that impact them?
Philadelphia has the worst before this year, after adding Schenn and Couturier, they should be much better. Calgary has tons of 3rd and 4th line prospects but no elite talent after giving up Erixon. Bartschi and Granlund should help now though.
The Flames have about 4 guys we're a bit excited for. Bartschi, Reinhart, Howse, who we are hoping can someday become top 6 forwards (though the latter two will most likely be 3rd-4th liners), and Brodie, who we hope can become a top 4 defender. Maybe Leach as well.
Make what you will of that. It's probably around the bottom, but it's better than it's been since the lockout.
Sharks are extremely weak at both wings and only have a couple centers with 2nd line potential. Our best forward prospects are Viedensky, the pirate Sgarbossa, and Wingles. We have a few guys that are more developed but they only have third line potential at best. We also have Nieto but he still has some way to go.
Our D prospects aren't that bad but we don't have any guys that will be top line guys. Braun, Deherty, Abeltshauser, and Petrecki are the notable ones and will probably have nhl futures.
On goalie we are strong with good prospects. Stalock may be injured for the year though which hurts a bit. Sateri may be better and will be playing his first year in NA this season. Also having JP Anderson.
Overall though we have no bluechip prospects and a lot of guys that aren't close to the nhl yet.
Edit. Forgot Neito.

If Courturier breaks camp with the Flyers (which I doubt, but it wouldn't be impossible), then Philadelphia jumps back in the race. They have a three-man prospect pool of Schenn, Cooter, and Gustafsson. Everyone else is a fringe player at best.
Vancouver's isn't looking too good. We do have a great goalie prospect on Lack (also Schneids already on the nHL) and a pretty deep blue line pool but up front we don't have much outside Hodgson/Rodin/Jensen (ugh, Schroeder too)
Plus we don't seem to have any top pairing potential and out of the forwards who do have potential, they're either Top 6 or bust.
