I guarantee you there are 14 teams in the west just DROOLING at the thought of only having to play the Wings twice a year.
Not me, just look at what Chicago did, they stole Bowman......among many others from the organization(plus Kopecky, Hossa etc), and built a team with the sole purpose of beating the Red Wings. After that happened, the cup was all theirs.

We've already got a headstart at it with MacLean, as well as a heavily Swedish influence on the team(and a deep prospect pool, and excellent farm team). I'd say this team could take it to them in 2-3 years if a few things go right.

I fully believe it will be Nashville or Columbus that makes the move over. Columbus apparently has been lobbying hard to be slotted with Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
Given the team that's actually moving, Nashville makes most sense as it's a simple division swap. Detroit has a lot more clout in the league, though, being the benchmark franchise for the past 10-15 years, so I wouldn't dismiss the prospect outright...

Detroit has the most clout for sure but Illitch is also one of the BOGs most respected owners, mainly because he knows the importance of Detroit to the league. He knows the West needs him because Detroit can sell out Wednesday nights at the Honda Arena in Anaheim and Tuesdays in Columbus. I don't think he'd screw over some owners by demanding a move. He's far too classy and it's not his MO. He's always done what's best for the league (agreeing to the move in the first place).

On this list.

1. David Rundblad, Defense
I am ok with him as #1, but think Lehner or Cowen are true #1 in my eyes.
2. Mika Zibanejad, Left Wing
Too high.......
3. Nikita Filatov, Right Wing
Too high......
4. Stephane Da Costa, Center
Too high.....
5. Jared Cowen, Defense
Way too low #1 in my eyes......
6. Jakob Silfverberg, Right Wing
No comment on Jakob yet.....
7. Patrick Wiercioch, Defense
Way Way too high.......
8. Derek Grant, Left Wing
Well I like him but......
9. Matt Puempel, Left Wing
No comment on him yet....
10. Robin Lehner, Goaltender
Way too low....................

Of this list my order would be.

1. Jared Cowen.
2. Robin Lehner.
3. David Rundblad.
4. Mika Zibanejad.
5. Jakob Silfverberg.
6. Matt Puempel.
7. Nikita Filatov.
8. Derek Grant.
9. Stephane Da Costa.
10. Patrick Wiercioch.

Some guess work in my rankings esp with the players I have never seen...........

Also I am a bit biased towards the Binghamton players, can't help it........

I think our poll listing on this blog is a lot more accurate.......

Pronman is really high on Grant. Tweeted a while back he was one of the most underrated prospects out there and that he wouldn't be surprised at all if he's a 2nd liner down the road.

The guy impressed as soon as he stepped into Bingo last year at 20 years old.

"Mark Stone had a tremendous breakout campaign, scoring over 100 points in the WHL a year after his first draft eligible season. He's an above-average puck-handler who can flash plus distribution ability and plays a fine physical game in front of the net and along the walls. If his skating wasn't so bad he would easily be in the Sens top 10 and could be there as soon as next season. There are a lot of tools to Stone, and while he's still a bit of a project, he's certainly someone to watch."

Happy to see my fave prospect getting some well deserved attention :-)

My heart disagrees... are you trying to break it?

Seriously, though, Lehner is one of the best goalie prospects out there. If he develops well, I'd imagine he could become an above average starter... but, of course, no guarantee that happens... I just think to peg his max as an average starter is selling short... he could be more.

That said, many cups have been won in recent years with average/slightly above average starting goalies. Given our experience with goalies, if Lehner turns into a consistently solid 15th best goalie in the league, my heart might not break completely.

An article isn't terrible just because someone placed prospects in different spots than you would.

He thinks Jared Cowen will be a #3 defencemen, considering that he put him as our 5th best prospect...it seems as though he's pretty high on our list. You guys gotta get HF **** out of your head and realize even after they get drafted scouts have differing opinions on players.

He doesn't think there's a future elite goaltender in all of prospects at the moment.

You can put the most cookie cutter lists on here, right a couple details that everyone already knows, make it sound nice...and everyone here is drooling. As soon as someone says something different, someone that clearly watches enough of these players...it gets crapped on.

Figure it out.

It just occurred to me that we have two forward prospects (Zidney and Silf) that have almost zero knocks against their game. They'll never break the bank, but they're arguably more rare and valuable than elite scorers. These guys are going to be hoisting the cup one day.

When did Fuhr hijack MoO's account?

I thought there was something oddly familiar about my tone in that one.

Stand by it though. I mean, if coreypronman is always wrong then let me know, but I have no idea. I don't know what anyone could complain about with Cowen at 5 after seeing him play in the AHL last year. Goalies are a crapshoot in scouting, he's not high on ours.

He sees no elite goaltenders out there as prospects...chances are he's wrong. There's such a poor success rate of projecting elite goalies.

I'm with MOO. Different opinions are nice once in awhile. The Sens board as a whole needs to calm the eff down and stop bringing the butt hurt mentality to every thread on this board and the main.

There are other rankings that I disagree with more than Detroit at #1.

Such as Nashville at 3, and Khocklachev (sp?) as the top ranked bruins prospect.

Considering the summer is a downtime and Im here a little more often now, it's unbelievable the difference in tone by the fan base as a whole on here. Some of the bickering and arrogance on the prospect forum is about as embarrassing as it could be on here.

It's like the ugly girl that got really hot all of a sudden....except were not even hot yet, but we think we are.
