I would love if Curt Keilback came back. Like many here , I grew up with his excellent, distinct style of play by play. One of the things I loved about him was his score call. Loved it when he hollered "The Shawwwt" or "He's Scored " Man doest that bring back memories...

I've heard rumors that he will not come back and that he is somewhat blackballed in the industry for some reason (I hope thats not true). If they'd pair him with Eddio O that would be an amazing duo (wont happen as Eddie is at versus/nbc). But hey they now have Pierre McGuire from TSN so maybe they can give us Eddie.

I know TNSE is starting fresh and has been hiring new people. But I would love for them to bring Darren Elliot back. I thought he was entertaining and very informative. I also liked his semi-lack of bias. He said it like it was and wasn't afraid of calling out a thrashers player when they made a mistake.

Keilback can still pull it off.

It really depends on who will get the radio rights to the Jets. Most are saying CJOB (who covered the original Jets and the Moose) will get the rights. Or it could very well be Sports Radio 1290.

Dan Kamal was the best in the business.

Shame he wasn't brought along.

I have to hear the person's call of the game first before I can register an opinion.

Keilback made you feel like you were at the game when you listened to his radio broadcasts. The best play-by-play commentator in the history of Manitoba.

Another great thing about Curt is how descriptive he is with his call. He will tell you specificly where the puck is in relation to the boards and made you feel you are their with him watching.

Allot of today's comentators are lazy with their call IMHO. Thats why radio play by play men translate so well into tv. The detailed call is instinctive even after switching to tv.

If I went with my heart I'd have to say Curt Keilback. He brings back so many fond memories. However, we are seeing that TNSE is going with the guys who brought them to the dance, so I'm thinking the radio deal is going to go to CJOB and that means Brian Munz will be our radio pbp man. That's fine with me, he's done a fine job with the Moose. The fact that Munz is front and centre on many of the video clips on the Jets web site also tells me that he's the front runner.

Given that, I'm hoping that Curt turns up as pbp man on the regional telecasts.

Another vote for Mr. Kielback here.

For anyone who hasn't heard him in a while, here's an interview he did not too long ago (after the Globe & Mail first broke that the Thrashers were coming, but before TNSE & the NHL made it official) : http://illegalcurve.com/2011/05/21/5...y-show-part-2/.

He sounds ready to go (hope he gets the chance).

You're completely wrong.

That honor goes to Ken (Friar) Nicolson.

True...but no longer an option...

I remember Nicholson and then later Keilback....both were great and had passion in the call. I was never much a moose fan so can't say much about the radio currently/ I do remember turning down the TV (CKND) and turning on OB with my Dad to watch the games. Keilback had the voice.....like Gallivan...that defined the team...IMO...would love to have him back on Radio and TV

Curt 100%

ES-SEN-SA THE SAVE!! It dribbles into the corner... and with it, is Olausson. He flips it ahead to Smail who dumps it in... first one to it is Lukowich...

Back to the point to Ellett... HE LETS ONE GOOOooooo

REBOUND... he SCOOOORESSS! DALE HAWERCHUK!!!

We used to strap on the skates in -30 after midnight and go play shinny at the rink behind Crestview school. They had the one light on which was barely enough to see... I would do the play by play as Curt and it would usually result in the cops stopping by and telling us to knock it off.

The Frair was my boyhood hero. The only thing that got me sometimes was that he would always preface statements with "not to sound like a homer, but...". That bugged me back then because I WAS such a homer.

Like you, I grew up listening to the Friar back in the days of the WHA Jets.

That being stated, I'd be quite happy with Keilback doing the play-by-play for either TV or radio.
