interesting, because he is "VHL guy". I know, one great save does not say about anything, but it is interesting goalies from VHL prove that they can play KHL - Garipov, Davydov, Jezhov
I think Ezhov is most interesting, basically he is a Canadian. My friend is friends with his girlfriend who lives in Canada says they are all shocked how he has climbed through the ranks. Basically if he stayed in North America he would be lucky to be playing pro at even the lowest levels. Russian passport definitely gave him opportunity which he pounced on. He played in some tier 2 junior A league in Canada before he took off to Russia. So basically he went from the basement of NA hockey to the highest tower in European hockey lol. Good for him.
In the last two games SKA has looked very well, at the moment it looks like a team that could fight for something big even in NHL, with no weaknesses at all. They've gotten rid of pensioners, signed Riha and now Tarasenko to add young Tikhonov and other guys and despite their misfortunes in last years' play-offs, I think they'll take the cup this year. They have a play-off coach in Riha, they have a team that has a good balance of experience and hungry young lions that want to win the trophy, they have great goalies.... At the moment it's really hard to imagine who will stop them... seing how they handled good teams like Torpedo and Dynamo Moscow easily in the last two games. But, of course, we'll see. But with the addition of Tarasenko they've now got 4 deadly lines and in today's KHL I don't see any club that could even try to match SKA in this respect...
What the hell.. khl site reporting of a game already ended between Traktor and Amur today, i think it's noon right now there.. did they play early in the morning or what?!

they played 10:00 Moscow time, you know it is khabarovsk
ahh, i thought they played in Cheliabinsk (i guess too used to NHL scoreboards where home team comes second) and didn't know that Khabarovsk was THAT East!
Just a question: Has Avto given away any players yet? Are they in a financially safer position than Lev or is it just that nobody wanted their players?

it is not about financial stability of a club, it is about strategy. Avto does not want to earn money for loaning, HC LEV wants. Avto will increase budget next season

So the financial stability isn't in Lev's plans? If so they have successfully fulfilled their plan
SKA-Riga WILL be 4-0, but in the 2nd round.... 'cause in the 1st: SKA-CSKA 4-0, Torpedo-Riga 3-4
Torpedo is in 4th place now.
even if its Torpedo, no chance for Riga this year, weak team, weak defence, weak goaltending.
Dinamo Minsk - CSKA
SKA - Riga, Riga is out
