Isn't that a week or two later than usual? Is it because of the NBA trouble? Take your pick on scheduling or lockout.

Ugh, NBA either come out with a statement that your not playing or settle this. I'd like to see some AHL teams improve their schedule over it.

I remember seeing it in the newspaper on August 6 in the past. Maybe that was at the end of the IHL days.

Someone with the Wolves just tweeted that they're going to be playing one of their preseason games in Hoffman Estates (where I live), so definitely going to be going to that.

Not that Rosemont's that far away, but whatever...

So how is it looking for you to be a Hoffman Estates resident this season?

Looking good, actually. Just got a job in Lincolnshire that I'll be commuting to starting mid-September, so I'll be staying up here. Plus, waiting to hear back on another job in Hoffman Estates, so might even have a choice on my hands between a higher paying, but longer commute, position versus a lower-paying, but much, much shorter commute (as well as being more relevant to my long-term career interests) gig on my hands.

After the past year though, that'd be a problem I'd love to have.

So are you thinking about season tickets or will your wife(if your married....although now that you say your focusing on your long term career I would guess that you are in your early 20's)not let you? Marty puts on a good show. The team will be entertaining and I bet successful. By the small looks of his roster to date you won't be disappointed this year

Nah, the gig I have will be either an 8-5 or 10-7 job, and I don't know which one yet, so there's probably a 50-50 chance that my job would overlap with non-weekend games (i.e. - almost half of their home schedule). I was thinking about the 12-game plan though, as that might work splendidly for me. Plus, I'd get discounts on additional tickets with that plan, so on games that friends or family might want to come to, it'd be that much easier to work with. Even if I get the 8-5 shift, or the job in Hoffman, just don't think I'd be able to go to every game this season. Maybe somewhere down the line, but not this first season.

WOW. Half of your schedule is during the week? Cincy has a lot of Weekday home games. I feel bad. we have 26 Friday/Saturday Home Dates.

Thats good stuff though, atleast you will be there as much as possible. Gunna become a diehard and listen to the games and get a jersey too?

Can't wait until Marty and crew visit in February! (Nah but really, he's a nice guy if you ever get a chance to meet him take advantage of it, he's a very honest guy and will talk to you about anything....even Football)

Well, I'm including Friday games as week games, on account of the possibility that I might be working until 7 on Fridays.

Looking at my pocket schedule, the Express breakdown is this:

Saturday/Sunday - 19 games
Friday - 11 games
Rest - 6 games

So, depending on how you look at it, it'd be either 30 weekend games or 19 weekend games if you have to work late on Fridays.

And yeah, I'm going to get a jersey for sure. Going with their away blues when the time comes:

Oh okay, I see what you did there. My mistake. sick jerseys. I might have to get one just because, those are epic. I hope this works better than the Hounds did...

lol we had problems with our ice a couple seasons ago. Holes in some elbows causing bubbles. They just tore those elbows out recently so we should be in good shape(though the past 2 years we had no problem after the bizarre incident.) We had to cancel a game, but otherwise we played on it everyother night and the center ice logo was pretty much gone.

After looking at that article about the schedule being released today, why if the season is shorter by 4 games is it going to take a week longer?

Because they got rid of 3 games in 3 days and 4 games in 5 days on the schedules.

Kinda dumb the schedule is shorter but it's going to take longer to play. They should just deal with the 3 in 3's. It's what minor league hockey is, a weekend league. 4 in 5 should definitely be gone but 3 in 3's were okay. They didn't get rid of them entirely did they? Or was it just for the most part?

Will there be 3 in 4's atleast?

When you are at the Sunday afternoon game of a 3 in 3 weekend and both teams look like they are skating in sand, you wonder why you are paying good money for AAA hockey when you get to see A hockey.

Have you attended many AHL games?

And with the schedule change the Admirals (don't know about other teams) have 32 of their 38 home games on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The most weekend games they've had since they joined the AHL.

Like I said, I don't know what other teams' weekend schedules look like but I'd imagine it's similar.
