Such sad news.
Pound for pound, Rypien was the best fighter the NHL has seen in a long time. Utterly fearless, handing out beatings to guys much bigger than him.

Was really hoping the Habs would have signed him this summer.

God bless RR. I absolutely love his straight arm coverup for when a big guy had him extended. The biggest compliment was after he beat the snot out of Stortini, Stortini tried the move himself, with not much success. Very exciting fighter to watch, classic role guy, not the yapper like carcillo or avery, just did his job and well.

This is another huge loss for fight fans, losing boogaard and probert as well.

My personal favorite rypien fight. Was with cam Jannsen because I saw it live.
