Also, this thread became a real downer when people started evaluating the textbook description of Glennie instead of the mythological wonder player that Glennie is.

I am new to this whole "Mystique/Glory of Glennie" thing and I find it ridiculous already.

Don't want to sound like a noob here (okay, I do..), but what's the story behind this nonsense?

There was a thread about him, another Value of and some guy though he was a defensemen who could win the Norris one day, then people said he was a goalie who could win the Vezina, then someone said he was a coach who could win the Jack Adams and people went from there, he became the Glennie, the most intresting man in the world and his wikipedia page was changed to reflect this.

tldr version.

It was when He signed His entry-level contract. Somebody said he could be a first line center in three years. Then the position argument arose, which led to "he'll be a 10th string goaltender in 16 years" and "he'll be a head coach in the NFL in a fortnight" and so on and so on.

It was legendary. I have the thread bookmarked in my Firefox Favorites. It should be wrapped up with a pretty bow and archived forever.

That being said, I always thought Scott Glennie was an interesting pick at #8, but I've got a feeling with a year or two in the AHL, he can really develop into a top-6 forward (no jokes). I say "forward" because nobody seems to be definitive about what position he'll play predominantly, which is why it would be beneficial to test out all positional theories in the AHL.

And yes, I am aware of my HF username too.

In the year 2020, Glennie will rise from his sleep, and lead the Dallas Stars to a Stanley Cup Victory at home, all the while screaming "THIS IS OUT HOUSE".

These proposals are weak sauce, we are talking about the Glennie here folks!

The Blues offer:
Alex Pietrangelo
David Backes
Chris Stewart
Tj Oshie
Patrik Beglund
Kevin Shattenkirk
Vlad Tarasenko
Jaden Schwartz
Ian Cole
Roman Polak
Jaroslav Halak
Jake Allen
2012 7th rounder(I think this is what makes it a deal)

IDK, do the Blues still need to add?

Brayden Schenn basically built him, the best thing to his game is his speed though, his hands and shot aren't much and his IQ is terrible, thats pretty much it.

I say probably the same value Nick Leddy had in the Cam Barker deal, something like that.

Edit: I know hes has issues with Drugs, he drinks an awful lot, I know he got caught smoking weed with another wheat kings prospect, got away cause he was a first rounder and the prospect was banned from the WHL and plays Junior B now.

He can speak French, in Russian.
That one is my favorite so far, but only on page 4.

Edit: the giraffe one is golden, too
Edit 2: Barracuda... Neil Armstrong...
Edit 3: OMG: Scott Glennie applies his body wash using a live wolverine, because he feels that it gives him the best combination of lather and exfoliation.

I didn't know about the later edit or statements, but no he wasn't schenn's pawn, this guy has talent just needs to build on it from the last I heard. He's more of a scorer and can do a little bit of playmaking problem is he needs to do some strengthening.

He can score in the big leagues, just needs time to adjust and can be effective for dallas. Last I heard roberts is also helping him so it must be a good step for him and the organization to put their trust in him.
