I don't know but above in the thread I posted Microsoft's figures from CES. Not sure if the 66 million is shipped or sold.

Thanks but again that's only for 2 years. What are the Current Worldwide Totals?

As in since the system launched up until today.

Damn PS3 beasting in the US. Add in Japan and Europe and it takes 2011 pretty handily.

Wii is in first by like 30M and 360 and PS3 are neck and neck at around 65M.

Not sure if serious...

And the last time they released worldwide sales numbers, 360 was up by around 2 million.

Holy ****, I had no idea that Xbox 360 dominated so much this year. Pretty good time to be a 360 owner!

Its a good time to be any owner of current gen system, they have run there course pretty much next gen should be just around the corner and I bet if the world was in a better economical situation would be a lot closer then it is today.

Any? I'd say it's a pretty rough time to be a Wii owner. Though, you did say "current gen"...

As much as maybe Wii lacks compared to other consoles again if you do own one there is the best selection of games ever therefore it is still the best time to own one. It does have some really good/unique exclusives that are not available on ps3 or xbox 360.

I wouldn't say ever (I'm a wii owner, and a proud one, so I'm not slagging on it), but the exclusive/first party titles are, to me, incomparable against the other systems. The near total lack of quality third party games is brutal, though.

I'm really looking forward to the Wii U, and how the next gen consoles will shake out. If they can win back the third party, cross-platform titles, I'm sold.

I have a Wii (my gf's) and it's sat in the box. Their games are boring. Though, I've played my Xbox more recently climbing from around 2,800 gamerscore to now 4,500. The sad thing is I've passed people who've had theirs for 2 years. It's the only system they own... Even worse is some people set their title to 'Pro'

I have a Wii Xbox and a PC every one of those brings a semi-unique experience, the least unique being the Xbox in my opinion, there exclusives are sequels at this point and the mainstream games from this past season(COD, BF3, BM:AC, Skyrim) are way better on my pc, I can't play console versions anymore.

I liked the Mario Galaxy, SSM, Metroid, Zelda and Lego games for my Wii, I also like playing the sports/mini games against my GF and friends, even though they are stupid simple and I've played them lots and enjoyed them very much to this day. A friend of mine bought one this past holiday season to get access to some of the old games we used to play as kids like blades of steel and punch out donkey kong and stuff, no other console works like an emulator going that far back, while its a lot of money to pay for something from 1989 its still got some merit.

This is of course just my opinion but I am no casual gamer either I have been doing this for a long time and I see a shift in the industry to all the same **** over and over again its not a bright future, the Wii as far as consoles go tried to plot a different course and that is a good thing for the consumer.

Anyway each to there own, If the Wii has sat there for this long you should give it to a family member or someone with kids they will at least enjoy it because sitting in the box it couldn't be more useless.

Hah, that is true... Well, if you don't count zombies...

If anyone for the xbox wants to add me it's: Scion 81 74. Yes, there are spaces. Not sure if it matters...

I have like 5 friends. I don't have of the popular games for it. I tend to buy them for the ps3. Though, left 4 dead, Gears of war 3 (Though I haven't really played it) are the popular ones I have.

PS3 for me, because PlayStations are what I grew up on, gaming wise. Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid and Uncharted are also why I have never thought about buying an Xbox.

Had no idea the Playstation Vita has flopped in Japan. Seems it will have the initial 3DS syndrome.

Granted, Nintendo righted the ship quickly and sliced 80 bucks off the price within 6 months making it affordable. That, combined with timely marque titles now being available, has the 3DS selling like hot cakes.

Will Sony follow suit and provide a drastic price cut within the first year?

I think both Sony and Nintendo have to lower the bar in terms of what they define as "successful" sales for their 3ds and vita handhelds. In the previous generation, both companies did not have to deal with competition from the smartphone gaming market for the first 3-4 years. For this generation they do right from the get-go. I could see overall hardware sales dropping 30% for Vita and 3DS compared to the previous generation's PSP and DS.
