Who's the Blue Jackets biggest rival? ('11 Edition)

Camp is less then 1 month away.

I figured it was time to throw up the last of the time-wasting polls.

Question for anyone who picks Nashville who isn't our resident Nashville homer...

Have you watched a Nashville-Columbus game within the last 4-5 years or are you just going by Puck-Rakers entries? I can't recall any one game that stands out. If I'm forgetting one, feel free to point that out.

I voted St. Louis, and you should too. The only team that I actively root against because of my experiences as a Jackets fan.

i voted nashville, just b/c they are on our level and we are fighting with them for playoff berths...I feel St Louis is beneath us, or atleast soon will be...but I voted before reading Sam's post that made St Louis make sense...they are def 1 and 1a for us...

The only thing that comes out to me about Nashville is the melee last year after RJ smacked Weber and Weber punched Tyutin.

Voted St Louis

St. Louis. We'll have some real wars with them, this year.

Strange, I was the first (only?) person to vote Detroit...

Until we can beat the Wings on a consistent basis, we will never earn our respect around the league. And, every time we play them, it's a playoff type atmosphere, and our team seems to bring their absolute best (or, on rare occasions, absolute worst). If we can start having some success around the league, I think this is quite possibly a strong rivalry in the making.

Of course, the Wings can't be good forever ...

The Crunch.

We suck too bad to have a true rivalry at the NHL level. Maybe it's with Edmonton on who can suck less? We are like flies to the teams we are voting for.

23-27-3 all-time vs. the Blues. Flies are very annoying.

Oh yeah, I'm sure their fan base is all concerned about us. Cool we almost rivals with the other bottom feeder in our division.

I guess the question should be asked, why are we even asking about it when we keep finishing in the bottom 4 in the conference and pretty much have a death grip on one of the two bottom spots in our division?

Rivalries need to be mutual.

I've said I hate the Blues the most in our conference, Nashville a close second. Doesn't mean they give two thoughts to us. Nashville is probably the closest thing to a true rivalry, mainly because Hitch did his best to pimp it with the whole Darth Vader thing. He also tried to create one with Detroit, but that had mixed results. He got our team up for the games for a couple of years and we stung Detroit a little (or at least hurting their seeding).

When we start knocking teams out of the playoff race and fighting with them for the top 3 spots in the division, then we can start entertaining rivalries.

Nashville loves us, we were the main reason they made the playoffs one year and they usually feed on us.

IMO Pens the discussion is the largest before and after the game against it.

Problem with picking St. Louis is that the hate is not equal on both sides. St. Louis and Chicago are blood enemies, and Columbus is just an annoyance.

Our problem is that we don't beat teams enough for their fans to take us seriously. We actually have to win enough games to create a true rivalry.

What this thread boils down to is What team do you dislike the most?

In that context, I hate Detroit the most.

Nashville. I think this may very well be the year this becomes an actual rivalry.

I picked Nashville because it bothers me that they consistently outperform us with less. I guess the truth is that it's really not much of a true rivalry because little has actually been at stake with them. I've always hated St. Louis, but don't feel much rivalry. If anything, it may be less now, since some of their most hated players are gone <Tkachuk>.

St. Louis. Anybody can say that St. Louis views us as irrelevant, but judging by the games, I'd say that is completely wrong. Columbus and St. Louis are without a doubt a rivalry game, although I do feel like we are the Arizona Cardinals of the NFC East.

I'm not gonna actually vote because my answer is "Other" and includes the whole damn Western Conference. To me, rivalry only exists when you have something to prove and I couldn't limit that to just one opponent. Sorry!

I voted Detroit because I just plain dislike them.

However, I was tempted to vote "other" for Philly for just this year. Nov 5 may prove to be an interesting night. Carter goes back, and I think it will be an electric game.

Already have my Nov 5 game tix, flight, and hotel BTW.

I voted Nashville, before I read this. St. Louis is a close second, maybe even 1B.

I could've went either way and would've probably voted St. Louis had I read this first.

Toss up between Nashville and St.Louis. But a rivalry has to go both ways. I know during my first few years on HF, Columbus/Nashville was something of an open rivalry, if not very heated.
As a team, I personally dislike St.Louis and have had some pretty douchey experiences with their fans. The few times I've been to Nashville, I had a great time and the Pred fans were generally excellent people to watch a game with.
As much as I want to hate Detroit, it's pure jealousy.
There. I said it.
