well of course you would. a whole line of all stars is impossible to turn down for any single player no matter who else you have on your team.

what this thread is asking is barring some gm having too many vodka shots and offering half his team for, who who would not be traded.

every team has at least two players that for various reasons they just wouldn't trade for equal value.

For Calgary

Stajan,Hagman,Bouwmeester

Wait I thought you said UNtradable

Realistically for Calgary it would just be Iginla,Bartschi but who knows there's a fine line between FAN favorites (Regher) but eventually they will need to go...

I think people are seriously overestimating a lot of players. A number of the players listed have even been involved in trade rumors the past couple years. Maybe I just have a different definition of untouchable. To me, you would have to be the future, if not the face of the franchise unless your team is so close that they aren't likely to trade anyone (Vancouver). Untouchable is the kind of player that the fanbase would cancel season tickets over unless there was a vast overpay.

My League:

Anaheim Ducks - Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry
Boston Bruins - Zdeno Chara, probably Thomas and Marchand
Buffalo Sabres - Tyler Myers, Miller
Calgary Flames - Iginla (for a little while longer)
Carolina Hurricanes - Eric Staal, Cam Ward, Jeff Skinner
Chicago Blackhawks - Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith
Colorado Avalanche - Matt Duchene
Columbus Blue Jackets - Rick Nash, Jeff Carter
Dallas Stars -
Detroit Red Wings - Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg, Nicklas Lidstrom
Edmonton Oilers - Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, probably Eberle
Florida Panthers - Erik Gudbranson
Los Angeles Kings - Jonathan Quick, Anze Kopitar, Mike Richards, Drew Doughty
Minnesota Wild -
Montreal Canadiens - Carey Price, PK Subban
Nashville Predators -
New Jersey Devils - Ilya Kovalchuk, Broduer
New York Islanders - John Tavares
New York Rangers - Henrik Lundqvist
Ottawa Senators - Erik Karlsson maybe?
Philadelphia Flyers - Brayden Schenn, Ilya Bryzgalov
Phoenix Coyotes -
Pittsburgh Penguins - Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Marc-Andre Fleury
San Jose Sharks -
St. Louis Blues -
Tampa Bay Lightning - Steven Stamkos, Martin St. Louis
Toronto Maple Leafs - Phil Kessel, Luke Schenn
Vancouver Canucks - Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, Ryan Kesler
Washington Capitals - Alexander Ovechkin
Winnipeg Jets - Andrew Ladd, Evander Kane, Tobias Enstrom, Dustin Byfuglien

For the Wild, Koivu for sure, and given his contract, youth, style of play, and fan popularity, Clutterbuck. Among the prospects, I can't imagine Granlund being dealt.

really? Brayden and Bryz? Its Giroux, JvR, and Schenn. We would trade Bryzgalov if it meant a younger goalie who is just as good or better (aka Carey Price, Jonathan Quick)

1. Lucic - A 30 goal scorer with a vary cap friendly salary
2. Krejci - The fact that Savard is prob not coming back due to to his post concussion problems make Krejci our Number 1
3. Seguin - Drafted 2nd over in the 2010 draft and shows a lot of signs of brilliants.
4. Rask - Tim Thomas is 37 with 2 years left on his contract. when he retires Rask will take over as our #1 Goalie.
5. Nathan Horton - Has great chemistry on Bostons top line with Krejci and Lucic + (NTC)
6. Bergeron - Great 2 way Center, plays all three zones. Core member (NMC)
7. Brad Marchand - After what he did during the playoffs and regular season there is no way Boston will trade him.

8. Chara - He is our Captian with a (NTC)

If we're talking virtually, then from the Bruins:

Chara
Rask
Seguin
Bergeron
Lucic

Next teir:
Horton
Krejci
Marchand
Seidenberg? Questionable there.
Thomas also questionable. (age, potential return, Rask is the future etc.)

You're missing Umberger. While he may technically not be untouchable, the price that would be demanded for him would be so ridiculously high that he might as well be.

The Big 3 blueline prospects (Moore, Savard, Goloubef) are also of interest since only one of the three would be moved, and Savard would require silly overpayment. Calvert would also require silly overpayment. But none of those would be overpayments sufficient to designate them virtually untouchable; they're just highly valued.

There probably is a not insignificant number of fans here who would cancel season tickets (or at least drop to smaller packages) over a RJ Umberger trade, unless it was for massive, massive overpayment. And some would probably still be disgusted over him being traded at all.

You only think I'm kidding.

Look at our defensive depth without Whitney and then tell me how important Whitney is to the team.

Tom Gilbert would be our number 1 defenseman barring injury if we traded Whitney. Tom Gilbert.

And he's been traded twice from teams that aren't the Oilers and weren't in the Oilers' situation.

Considering they have a serviceable #1 in Seabrook, I'd think the Hawks would listen to a serious offer for Keith.

(by serious I mean star-player-coming-back serious)

Just Hall for Edmonton, Eberle would be next but I'm sure we'd move him for a great player if the deal came along.
