I think the first pre season game is being vasty underrated. Its the very first time the guys play here, preseason or not. You can't replace that, it will never happen again.

Sure, the home opener will be even more crazy and memorable, but the first preseason game at home is close behind. Anyway, dont make, as I'll be going to both lol.

Here is the list of games Ive chosen to go see. Actually, im adding two more, the only one I can remember off the top of my head is caroline Oct.22 because its the first saturday hockey night in canada broadcast for the Jets and I'm going to go to the bomber game before that.

1. Sun, 9 Oct 2011 Canadiens Winnipeg 4:00 PM
2. Mon, 17 Oct 2011 Penguins Winnipeg 7:30 PM
3. Mon, 24 Oct 2011 Rangers Winnipeg 7:30 PM
4. Thu, 17 Nov 2011 Capitals Winnipeg 7:30 PM
5. Sat, 19 Nov 2011 Flyers Winnipeg 2:00 PM
6. Thu, 1 Dec 2011 Coyotes Winnipeg 7:30 PM
7. Tue, 6 Dec 2011 Bruins Winnipeg 7:30 PM
8. Sat, 17 Dec 2011 Ducks Winnipeg 6:00 PM
9. Fri, 23 Dec 2011 Penguins Winnipeg 7:30 PM
10. Thu, 29 Dec 2011 Kings Winnipeg 7:30 PM
11. Sat, 31 Dec 2011 Maple Leafs Winnipeg 6:00 PM
12. Sat, 14 Jan 2012 Devils Winnipeg 6:00 PM
13. Thu, 19 Jan 2012 Sabres Winnipeg 7:30 PM
14. Fri, 17 Feb 2012 Bruins Winnipeg 7:30 PM
15. Sat, 25 Feb 2012 Blues Winnipeg 1:00 PM
16. Mon, 27 Feb 2012 Oilers Winnipeg 7:30 PM

I have season tickets and I would be far more willing to give up the September 20 game than ANY regular season game. It's a split squad game for goodness sake, it's an exhibition. I view it as a glorified practice...with half the players there! I kind of think that the Sept. 20 is being OVER valued by many.

actually, I took that first pre-season game. look what was remaining at that point in the draft (and in our draft you can't pick the same team twice, so NYI was not an option for me). I suppose Minn would have been ok, but I'm thinking the first game, even if pre-season, should have a fun atmosphere.

COLUMBUS - pre September 20, 2011
FLORIDA January 21, 2012
NASHVILLE - pre September 30, 2011
DALLAS March 14, 2012
NY ISLANDERS December 20, 2011
MINNESOTA December 13, 2011
FLORIDA March 1, 2012
CAROLINA March 18, 2012
FLORIDA November 10, 2011
CAROLINA - pre September 28, 2011
CAROLINA December 9, 2011

I get where your coming from, but in my opinion, the first preseason game at home is more important than a florida game in january. But like I said, doesnt really matter when you have full seasons, I might just end up seeing that panthers game in january anyway...

To each his own I suppose. Like I said I'd rather see a Florida game with our full team trying to earn two points, than half our guys getting their legs back and avoiding injury.

In our draft, I'd say my biggest surprise was that Phil went so soon (4th), and TO, Pitts, and Wash went later than i would have guessed

We have three partners that share 4 tickets and we started by creating blackout games. These are games all three people wanted to attend like the home opener. We eliminated these from our draft to make sure we could all get to the game's that were big and then we started our draft.

Our primary issue is we have three guys that travel allot so it forces inventory on others when they might not ideally want it. My goal was to get to about 20 games this year and I will achieve that. My games are a bit more clustered than I would like but I am at all the big ones I wanted to get to other than when I am traveling.

Either way they are all on tv and with the PVR, HD, and theatre room........well......the once in a life time summer will keep rolling into next spring!

Totally agree. That September 20th game is the first Jets 2.0 game EVER. This of course ONLY matters this season.

Below is our first round. It's kind of skewed because I've been a Sharks fan since day one. And the Islanders / Kings games were selected because of the dates.

1. Montreal - Oct 9
2. Pittsburgh - Oct 17
3. Islanders - Dec 20
4. Sharks - Jan 12
5. Pittsburgh - Dec 23
6. Phoenix - Dec 1
7. Montreal - Dec 22
8. L.A. - Dec 29

With crosby out, ovechkin might be the face of the nhl right now. Toronto is so loved/hated, I thought the crowd would be really into it. That's why I thought those games would go higher.

Washington is all about WHO is on the team. Toronto however, could ice a beer league team and the Leaf fans would still go mental for them. That's what he's saying. Most likely though, there wasn't a hard core Leaf 'fanatic' in his draft then.

Funny part is that I did have a hard care Leaf fanatic in my draft and the Leafs games didn't even go top 10! LOL!
