I dunno man, pretty sure wings fans and avs fans still wish nothing but failure on each others teams, but because we don't face each other in the playoffs anymore it doesn't get intensified by high stakes games the way it used to. It'll be back in full force the next time the two meet in the playoffs.
can't speak for Avs fans but most Wings fans are pretty indifferent towards the Avs nowadays
I like your dark horse pick, wonder what Vegas odds are on ST.Louis to win the Central
While I think LA & Ana will challenge for the Pacific , Sharks are the team to beat. Improved their D tremendously(top 5 NHL), Niemi with a full year under his belt, a top 6 that can play with anyone, top 5 PP. Sharks win the Pacific by 8-10 points.
Felt like since we have the East prediction thread bumped, we could use a West prediction thread.
Weird looking back @ this. Never would have imagined then the Ducks falling this far (or the Wild for that matter after their 21-8 start). Totally overrated the Jackets too. But I got what I think I will be 7/8 playoff teams
Sorry, but Nashville and St. Louis' chances of winning the Central are much smaller than Detroit and Chicago's.
Nashville got worse this summer, and St. Louis is the same team as last year. All they proved to us was that they can start hot. I think the Blues should make the playoffs but it's getting a little ridiculous how badly some people are overrating them on here.
I can guarantee you that the division winner will be Detroit or Chicago.
1. San Jose
4. Los Angeles
6. St. Louis
Still can't believe I thought Columbus was a playoff team.
Ah, hindsight is amazing. I think the best part of this thread was all the people who were defending their team vehemently and now they aren't even in the playoff picture, or just barely. Donno if I posted but my standings were:
1. San Jose
7. St. Louis
Just again shows how much HF boards overrates "teams that made it last year + teams that made big splashes in FA." Phoenix and Dallas were doomed because their big name FAs were taken away. Columbus was a playoff team because they got shiny new names.
I really hope some people remember eating crow when the prediction threads pop up in the offseason. But of course they won't, and people will overwhelmingly and vehemently defend predictions based on "they didn't get better over the summer." Because spending money is the only way for a team to improve, of course.
