Palmieri is better served going back to Syracuse and playing top minutes. He is a top 6 forward, not a bottom 6 guy so there is no reason to audition him for a checking role.

I don't think Palmieri under-performed or disappointed in this training camp. I think there are just a handful of guys who did a better job. There really aren't many spots for wingers and Gordon is making his case. Same with Smith-Pelly. So much so we might lose Sexton to waivers (that is if he has to clear waivers). If I had to guess Maroon and McGratten are also on their way to Syracuse today.

Will Sbisa make the big club?

I love this guy as a player.

100% he will. Heil most likely start the season in our Top 4 with Lydman out, and most likely will play in a third pairing role after that. I would be shocked if he was sent down at any point this year.

100%. Never was in doubt when they signed him to a 4 year extension last year.

The Ducks have made the following roster moves:

Assigned to Syracuse (American Hockey League):
Nick Bonino Center
Mat Clark - Defenseman
Nicolas Deschamps Left Wing
Peter Holland Center
Kyle Palmieri Right Wing
Dan Sexton Right Wing
Sean Zimmerman - Defenseman

Anaheim now has 30 players remaining on its 2011 Training Camp Roster 16 forwards, 10 defensemen and four goaltenders.

Looks like that solidifies Mac as the 4th line center, McGratton still up though, maybe a dark horse.

Holland made a case but centering the first line in the AHL will be good for him.

Sexton is really gone! YES! YES! Kind of surprised by Holland, but not disappointed in any way, shape, or form. I'm looking forward to seeing x-Holland-Palmieri tear up the AHL (hopefully)!

Looks like DSP might get the 9 games.

Maroon still says with the Ducks? I thought he hasn't impressed anyone?

I dont mind Palmieri being sent down. He was arguably the best rookie winger with the highest production. But, as said already he's headed for the top 6 and could use top 6 minutes. He'll definitely be with the Ducks next season.

Glad to see Guenin still here. I liked what I saw yesterday.

With Jacques likely out, and Beleskey, he's maybe competing for the fourth line for a few games into the season.

I only saw him in the game yesterday and he looked horrible.

Some big cuts there, was excited with Hollands play but 1C in Syracuse will be far better for him and the wingers he plays with.

Interesting to see Macenauer take the 4C role in Anaheim, I've liked him for a while now and I'm glad he finally took that role. We all knew Gordon was safe but Smith-Pelly still hanging around is something.

Right decision, imo.

Palmieri and Holland should get used to the pro game in Syracuse and develop some chemistry.

They both had good camps, by the sound of it. Especially Holland, who had a much better camp this year.

Zimmerman and Sexton have to pass through waivers.

Sexton being claimed is a good thing, it means we're not stuck with his one way contract next year and it also frees up a contract spot.

I hope they don't keep Smith-Pelley around for the 9 games just because they can. He doesn't look ready to me and McMillan is far more deserving of the third line LW spot than DSP.

Macenauer seems like the ideal fourth line center right now.

Syracuse fans should be excited.

Holland-Palmieri should be fun to watch.

TSN is pushing for a longer term suspension, with the 2 bull-**** artists Dreger and McKenzie leading the charge, but it would've been mentioned by now, if more disciplinary action were to follow his manditory 1 game.
