I prefer TSN and CBC to Sportsnet broadcasts, simply because CBC and TSN both mic their crowds and Sportsnet doesn't, but I'll take passable coverage to no coverage or paid coverage.
I also hate sportsnets sound, the other stations not only mic the fans but the crispness of the sound as a whole is so much better. Their sound makes me fall asleep its so muffled.

Sportsnet 1 isn't bad, but over CBC? I know Mark Lee and Kevin Weekes suck but CBC has quality that kills Sportsnet by a mile, only thing Sportsnet has over CBC is Quinn/DeBrusk is better than Lee/Weekes

I sure hope so. It may have been used to pressure providers to come to agreement with SNET for SNET-1 last year when the channel launched ...

Well, what it really comes down to is whether or not ad rates for preseason games are higher than production costs.

It's not a case of Sportsnet having a Jays game or something in the slot, because Sportsnet Oilers is dead when the Oilers aren't playing.

As part of the agreement, TSN will broadcast more than 60 regional regular season and pre-season games each season to fans in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and parts of Northwestern Ontario on the new specialty channel "TSN Jets" – a part-time television service dedicated to Jets games and launching September 20.

Too bad we couldn't get that here. Not that I am a Jets fan, but to have an additional 60 games would be a nice option.

Schedule out for Sportsnet. Not sure if this is official, but if so I'm ecstatic. Says that MB will be in the broadcast area! No Centre Ice for me!

It's wrong (likely old and outdated). You won't get the games in MB.

I've seen you post similar things. Not doubting you, but what have you done to get this inside info? Why should I trust you?

The fact that we don't get Jets games in Alberta should be indication enough.
