I don't know... Sportsnet One is a life saver. It kills overpriced PPV's, ensures every game is on TV and most cable companies have included it in the sports package.
I prefer TSN and CBC to Sportsnet broadcasts, simply because CBC and TSN both mic their crowds and Sportsnet doesn't, but I'll take passable coverage to no coverage or paid coverage.
I also hate sportsnets sound, the other stations not only mic the fans but the crispness of the sound as a whole is so much better. Their sound makes me fall asleep its so muffled.
Why does anyone have an issue with Sportsnet 1? I'd prefer any game on sportsnet 1 over CBC.
Sportsnet 1 isn't bad, but over CBC? I know Mark Lee and Kevin Weekes suck but CBC has quality that kills Sportsnet by a mile, only thing Sportsnet has over CBC is Quinn/DeBrusk is better than Lee/Weekes
That's true, but Sportsnet Oilers picked up every preseason game in early September last year (at least the ones that weren't already TSN and Sportsnet West broadcasts).
I suspect it'll happen again.
I sure hope so. It may have been used to pressure providers to come to agreement with SNET for SNET-1 last year when the channel launched ...
As part of the agreement, TSN will broadcast more than 60 regional regular season and pre-season games each season to fans in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and parts of Northwestern Ontario on the new specialty channel "TSN Jets" – a part-time television service dedicated to Jets games and launching September 20.
Too bad we couldn't get that here. Not that I am a Jets fan, but to have an additional 60 games would be a nice option.

Does anyone who lives in Calgary know how it worked last year for the games on Sportsnet/Sportsnet One? I'm hoping I can still see every game here between the two but was in a temporary residence last year and didnt get all the necessary channels.
i live in calgary and i saw everygame last year, if i remeber right sportsnet1 had 2 channels or picked up an extra for anytime the flames and oil were playing the same night. I know as an oiler fan in calgary i didnt miss a game.
