I think we have reached a point where only the SERIOUS prospect hounds can honestly vote...

The difference between prospects is really tricky right now, but I could seriously see us going strong at #25 with our pool...

The value right now is in the eye of the beholder. I chose Lajunen over Budish, Salomaki, and Hellberg because he's always caught my eye as a skilled forward during prospect camps and knowing that he is solid defensively and played against men the past few years...it just made the difference for me here.

Cases could be made for a lot more guys too. Roussel, Puustinen, Pickard, Engren, Rask, Aronson, etc all have legitimate upside.

I just chose Budish because I've heard the most about him, this is where it's getting trickier.

I voted Hellberg, I'm thinking his stock with Preds fans is being hurt right now by other goalies we've taken in the first two rounds. I'm thinking he has a better chance to pan out as an NHL calibre talent than Smith or Pickard. Although given the Preds track record with goalies in the first two rounds, and the fact that goalies don't make great trade bait, why are we still using high picks on them? Hopefully Hellberg is the one who turns things around.

I think this is around where we let grouptalk and groupthink take over and it skews it. I would wager you could take some of the prospects like cehlin and give gms a choice of him or budish/pickard/engren/hellburg and they would take the one not named cehlin, but since cehlin just recently had a good tourney or whatever it was, and his name is out there, he is the sexier name.

This... But I also thought about Hellburg and Noonan. And for a half sec thought about Lajunen

I had to go with Budish. COR has potential, but at a position of strength so he's overshadowed and there is a good chance he never even makes the team. The rest have either fallen off, haven't had time to prove anything, or I just haven't seen play.

Nearly went with Smith, though. I don't think he will be better than Hellberg, but he has played on NA ice.
