He he a clause where he goes to KHL if we send him to Hamilton. Rather obvious we're going to do everything we can to keep this guy in the NHL, since we've been trying to bring him over for half a decade.

Wow, the anticipation for the start of this season could not get any higher right now. I also checked out the highlights video and was amazed. He seems very agile and quick and knows what to do right away when the puck is on his stick. He is a very smart player and his pass from the point to the slot is so precise. Imagine, now Cammy has; Markov, Subban and Yemelin all feeding him for that one-timer.

As for Berger. I think he hate too many "bergers" before hitting the ice. He looked sluggish in his skating, often had his head down and looked gassed by the end of it. His one-timers were pretty nice though. Hope he can get his skating worked on.

You have to remember, that that highlight video was on international ice. On North American ice he'll have less time.

You're right about Berger. Terrible skating, but great shot. Could be a Dustin Penner type player.

Good point. I hope it will translate well in the NHL, because he looks great out there.

He's 25 years old and has been a professionnal hockey player for the last 7 years. It's not different than signing a free agent and put him already on the lineup even if they aren't the best NHLers look at guys like Moen or Bouillon, they had they spot given within the team, but in fact some players could have been beat by younger guy.

Will be great to see if Yemelin and Diaz crack the opening day roster (Yemelin should be, or he will leave to the KHL).

If they do, the Habs will have Markov, Subban, Gill, Gorges, Spacek, Weber, Yemelin and Diaz all with the big club....like the options!

Not to mention Woywitka will be there fighting for a spot, and pushing those two.

Pretty fluid skater. Wish he took one or two good slap shot but should see it sooner than later.

Also will wear 74!

Also one of Alain Berger, who's skating looks like it needs work.
Holy smokes. Does Berger skate like a deformed ape or what?! Hopefully he can turn that around with Hamilton's coaches.

Finally got to see it. Wow, watching him skate made me a little more optimistic of him becoming a Volchenkov/ Kronwall tyoe defensmen. Those 2 are able to stop forwards mainly because of their supoerior skating, let's hope Emelin can be that kind of player for us.

The problem is his posture. He's too slouched over, his head is down half the time and he's moving awkwardly. It's off he's having these problems, as skating techniques to prevent bad posture is taught in Peewee hockey.

We will hold 8 defenseman, that's a sure bet.

But the last spot will be a battle between Weber and Diaz. Yemelin and Woywitka are in IMO.

Diaz may need more time to adapt. Woywitka is perfect for the 8th spot and will challenge Spacek.

Markov - Yemelin
Gill - Subban
Spacek - Gorges
Woywitka - Weber

Man I can just see the main board haters now

Last year Subban and Weber emerge. This year if Emelin emerges as that D we really need.... I know some haters gonna hate

Not to mention if the stars align and Diaz pans out also @ Gauthier
