Relative to other NHLers he is probably somewhere around the 20th percentile as a skater........that is slow.
It helps that he always has his feet moving so he is rarely caught flat footed but skating will always be his biggest weakness.

I'm a huge Ryan White fan (''old school'' player a la Mike Keane) and I'll defend him anytime, but he's not the fastest skater, but...
He does have defensive hockey sense and some underrated offensive hockey sense (from the little I've seen from him). It's not like I've seen him in 180 games already!
White is all-heart, all-warrior, all ''everything we need''.
He's gonna be 11th, 12th or (at worst) 13th forward, imo...here and there.
