Actually, this thread is now the all-purpose avatar thread. Draft and season set info is in post 2. If you want an avatar (2011 season set or otherwise) make a request here and one of the board's designers might get to it. If you make avatars that you want to share, also post them here.

2011 Season Set:
If you do not have a 2011 avatar and you wish to have one, check posts 3-5 to see what is still available from the pre-made gallery. If you already have a 2011 avatar and you don't like it anymore you can swap it for any that are available. Please note that if you swap your avatar your old one become fair game to anyone who wants to claim it.
NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT TAKE AN AVATAR WITHOUT OBTAINING IT THROUGH OPEN CLAIMS. WE PUT A LOT OF WORK INTO THESE AND EVERYONE HAS AGREED TO PLAY BY THE RULES, SO THERE SHOULD BE NO EXCEPTIONS. THANK YOU.
Customization options: By default, all avatars will come with the orange background and script font. If you prefer the teal or gray background and/or the block font, indicate as such when you make your selection. Examples below:
If you happen to select a Handzus or Brazil avatar, I recommend the block font because the script's lower case Z looks like a G.
Special requests: I will take requests for prospects and former Sharks not currently in the gallery. I will limit these requests to two per player. For example, if two people pick Irbe, I will not be making anymore Irbe avatars. This is subject to the availability of usable images on the internet. My personal preference for former Sharks is that they are either retired or no longer playing in North America. I won't turn down a request for non-retired ex-Sharks (Nolan, Nabby, Seto, etc). I just think it's odd to use one of their avatars when they're playing for another team.
Trades: You may trade your pick for anything you see fit. This could be another pick, picks in future drafts, favors or whatnot on the boards (having someone else do or say something), real life items, etc. Please note that you cannot make a trade that forces someone else to break the rules of this site. Also note that no one here can enforce the trading of real life goods, so make those trades at your own peril (though anyone who welshes on an agreement will have their conduct noted and it will potentially hurt your ability to make trades going forward). If you make a trade, both parties involved should contact me via PM with the terms of the deal so I know it's agreed to.
The Sharks trade your avatar subject: If the person on the avatar you chose is traded prior to the end of the draft, you have 4 options: 1) keep the avatar of the traded player. 2) forfeit your avatar and go without. 3) swap your avatar subject with whatever players are being acquired by the Sharks (eg if we had started earlier, people who chose Seto would have first dibs on Burns), or 4) forfeit your current avatar and take a compensatory pick at the end of the current batch. Please note that for options 3 and 4 the availability of incoming players and ordering of compensatory picks is done on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Theft: Avatar theft is highly frowned upon. If you manage to take from the gallery without drafting or take someone else's avatar once it is posted, there will be consequences. If 100+ other posters can play by the rules, so can you.
Placeholders: Avatars that show just the back of the player's jersey are placeholders. I'll create the proper avatar (with corresponding jersey color) when pictures become available of said player in a Sharks uniform. So if you're picking a placeholder, make sure you choose the jersey color you like best.
(These are not the files you're looking for. Instead of posting a link to a Photobucket album, I lumped them together (8 per actual image) to get around the 24 image limit. Your actual avatar file will be posted in this thread after you make your selection)
Let's see some trades this year. I'll start. Since I love all my avatars equally (unlike my kids), I'll swap spots with the first person (in the draft) to guess my birth state.
I absolutely do not deserve my high pick in the draft as I have not been a very active member lately and did NOTHING in the process of creating the avatars. Therefor, despite my decision to not use an official avatar this year, I'm not going to trade my spot for anything of real value, since I really don't deserve it in the first place.
SO: My number five overall pick will go to the person who can draw and PM me the best picture on MS Paint. The contest closes when my turn comes up, so get drawing fast!
And don't cheat, you actually have to draw it, and it can't be something you've drawn in the past
EDIT: and I know that this breaks the forfeiting picks rule. So to ease my conscience, I will share all of the pictures I am sent. Surely this will repay my debt to the boards.

replace globetrotter with TWC member and you get the idea.
I swear, the next invasion trip I can manage to be a part of, we need to have the whole TWC together. That way if any philly fans show up, we can lord it over them.
