CGY - DET/NSH/NJ/PIT/TOR (attempt to get a top d prospect)

To Detroit:
Rene Bourque
TJ Brodie

To Calgary:
Brendan Smith
2nd round pick

TO Nashville:
Rene Bourque
TJ Brodie

TO Calgary:
Jonathon Blum
Mike Fisher

TO New Jersey:
Rene Bourque
TJ Brodie
6th round pick

To Calgary:
Jon Merrill
David Clarkson
3rd Round Pick

To Pittsburgh:
Rene Bourque
TJ Brodie
2nd round pick

To Calgary:
Simon Depres
Tyler Kennedy

To Toronto:
Matt Stajan
TJ Brodie
2nd round pick

To Calgary:
Jake Gardiner
Matthew Lombardi

My attempts to get Calgary a top D prospect. I wasnt given much to work with, so I had to use the same players most the time. I also Understand Smith, Blum, Merrill and possibly Gardiner are all very important to their teams. Most these are probably awful but I gave it a shot, feel free to change some of them up.

EDIT: Im not a fan of Brodie and Bourque is tradable with high value. All these proposal blow.

Burke picks up, laughs, tells Feaster to stop drinking, and then hangs up.

Oh, and then he emails Stajan a restraining order telling him to stay 100 miles from Toronto in each direction.

You're underrating Rene Bourque's value. And....

If Calgary trades their 2nd best winger for a prospect, then they pretty much need to trade everyone on the entire roster and go into a full rebuild. They're a fringe playoff team right now and if they lost Bourque and only got a rookie Dman back, they're toast.

Wait till the deadline, then blow it up if they have to. And if they're going to do that, they start by trading their older, more established players (Iginla, Kiprusoff, etc.) and not be trading their #1 Dman prospect.

Thanks but no thanks from toronto, do not want stajan back especially at the price of Gardiner. If you switch him to Bourque and maybe downgrade the pick, THEN were talking.

Why don't you just keep T.J Brodie? Problem solved, he looked great in your run to the preseason championship last year.

The funny thing is Brodie could become the best of any of these prospects.

No to all of them from my standpoint.

Rene Bourque alone is worth a high end defensive prospect. Plus.

Pittsburgh's collective ears at least perked up.

Devils say no. There is nothing on the Flames that the Devils would be interested in getting, other than a 2012 1st rounder.

No thanks. Gardiner's arguably our best D prospect and no chance we trade him for Stajan. We already HAD Stajan.

Burke gave you guys Stajan for a reason, no way he comes back to Toronto after the huge contract you guys gave him along with Gardiner leaving.

I'll have to say no as a Nashville fan. Blum will most likely be on the 2nd pairing at the start of the year and has looked like a seasoned vet in his short stint up here, some have even said he's looked like our third best defender. Adding Fisher is overkill.

that Toronto deal is a joke right? not a chance we take your overpaid 3rd line C and you want a quality D prospect? not a chance besides that Calgary's 2nd went to the sabres in the regehr trade.
