No, that's probably what they'd want. The fact that the Devils wouldn't pay that much probably tells you that you aren't going to get Campbell.

While we're all really keen to have a top 6 of Kovalchuk Kovalchuk Kovalchuk Kovalchuk Kovalchuk Kovalchuk for 3 years until Campbell is ready to make the jump, I think it's best we avoid it.

Ok, I'll bite.

Why exactly is Jussi Rynnas worth a 1st round pick?

Why exactly do you think that a 24 year old goalie who went undrafted and has played one average season in the AHL, is worth a 1st round pick?

Cause Burke ripped Boston and Calgary off therefore all your base belongs to them.

Colorado paid a premium for Varly, and ppl expect Campbell to get that return?

I figured I might as well offer Rynnas up at a discount.

You're missing the point a bit here. It's not necessarily that we all wouldn't give up a prospect of Tedenbys caliber (I wouldn't, but I don't value young, unproven goalies much either), but that our farm is weak at wing. If we were going to make a trade for Campbell it'd have to be from an area of strength, which is D, in the system.

I think Dallas can't trade him simply because his value is too low now. Are they going to sell a potential franchise goalie for a 2nd round pick because he had a bad season at 18? I doubt it. Will NJ really pay a boatload for him? No, so we're at an impasse.

I agree, the Devils would not do that. Too weak at centre to even think of trading Josefson.

No, I would not. I explained why I don't think goalie prospects are something to pay a premium for. Their development is very difficult to predict. Tedenby is close to a sure bet, playing at a high level.
