Oof. Would take a big overpayment from the Leafs... but something along the lines of:

Kadri/Colborne
Blacker/Gardiner
2012 1st
2012 2nd
And probably a good, young roster player - ie. Kulemin

It's more likely I end up on the moon than Spezza ends up in Toronto.

I know it would take a massive overpayment but I think this is a bit much.. I mean a top six guy in kuli, Kadri blacker a first which may be middle of the pack and a second... I would like to have spezza with kessel I think they could work good together but I think that package is a bit much for me.. Maybe it is only me that thinks that.. But I rly like kuli so wouldn't want to see him go...

Haha um no, way too much. Those are five good assets.

Kulemin + for Spezza

Schenn + for Spezza

Kadri/Colborne
Gunnarsson
TOR 1st 2012
for Spezza

Don't see it happening though.

Yeah, as I said it would take an overpayment. You have to realize that Spezza is a legitimate #1 centre in the league capable of 90+ point seasons, and those kind of players are rare.

Kadri, Schenn and a non-bluechip prospect like Ross or McKegg.

Not a chance Ottawa parts with Spezza for a prospect, 1st and a bottom pairing D-man.

No hypothetical deal makes sense.

Anything short of lunacy in re the Leafs' offer would be rejected by the Sens. Spezza's value to the team short-term and long-term plus the Leafs' being in the same division plus their status as a hated rival make it impossible otherwise.

Can you imagine the PR nightmare of trading your young, home-grown (to some extent) franchise player to your team's arch-rival when you don't have to?

And why would Ottawa want Kulemin when they're trading Spezza? So they can play him with Jesse Winchester?

And theres no way Toronto parts with one of their best two prospects, another good prospect, what likely will be a top 15 pick, an early-mid second round pick, and their overall best player in Kulemin.

I bet you Burke would think long and hard about trading Kulemin ALONE for Spezza.

He wouldn't have to think at all because there's no way that BM would offer it.

Probably not. The same chance that Spezza will be going to Toronto in the first place.

1st line centers come with a very high price, especially when what's offered are players with potential and Kulemin.

You have got to be kidding me. Kulemin has ONE 30 goal season and everything overrates him as one of the best players in the league. Let's see if he can repeat that before you start acting like he's worth a top 10 centre.

Kulemin is a superstar and kadri not a prospect... hmm.

Besides a massive ovrrpayment ala kessel spezza is staying in ottawa. Too much value to this prganization

You can't get much more of an impossible trade than this.

Ottawa would need to fill the #1 center hole with an elite prospect, ala Brayden Schenn deal for Richards, which Toronto can't do. Plus, a deal like this would never happen between division rivals like Tor/Ott.
