Schroeder lights it up in the preseason, makes the Canucks take a real hard look before sending him down.
Hodgson is ready and makes the team as the 2nd line center while Kesler is out. Produces at a pretty nice clip to start the year.
Sauve similar to Schroeder, but defensively. Makes it hard on the team to send him down.
Nolan makes the team. Bitz plays. 4th line is Nolan/Lappy/Bitz with Oreskovich as the 13th forward.
All possible. It seems like there is always someone who surprises in camp. Last year it was Tanev. Before that Shirokov. It will be interesting to see who it is this year. Sauve or Schroeder are not bad bets.
I could see Sauve looking impressive in camp, party cause of his tools and party cause the quality of competition is lower than real NHL games. Less risk of his flaws being exposed continually.
Who knows what'll happen but my guess is he is pencilled in for the Wolves with very little chance of playing more than 5 games for the Canucks again this year.
Schroeder seemed to have a pretty solid exhibition season last year once he was paired with Brendan Morrison. It'll be about the quality of linemates around him--he's got skills, but he's certainly better when he's paired with other skilled players. He's not a guy that will crack the lineup as a grinder.
Everything is taking forever to be announced. We're now 11 days from the start of rookie camp and 2 weeks away from the Young Stars tournament but we haven't heard anything regarding rosters. Last year this time I believe most teams already announced their rosters.
Not to mention we haven't even had our official training camp announcement. Although the Canucks are notoriously slow at announcing these things. The offseason cannot end soon enough.
Every day I'm waiting for any sort of announcement for training camp. It's getting quite annoying. Im planning on taking in 1-2 days of camp live this year( if at ubc) I need to book a couple days off work.
Sauve was in town a week or two ago, but I believe he's back in Quebec right now.
I'm friends with Sauve on facebook lol... Moved out to Vancouver for good (at least camp) about a week ago and attended a barbecue at Hamhuis's house the first night he was here. Another funny fact about Yann, he drinks a lot but never really gets drunk...(at least in the off-season).
A reassuring sight on Monday was Mikael Samuelsson doing drills – stopping, starting, making quick cuts and tight turns – looking, in fact, like surgery he had in mid-May has left no lasting pain or weakness.

It was obvious Alex Edler wasn’t himself in the Vancouver Canucks’ 4-0 loss to Boston in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final last June.
Once the game was over and the Bruins had taken the Stanley Cup back to Beantown, Edler revealed why: He’d had two fingers broken in the third period of Game 6 in Boston.
It was so bad he couldn’t hold his stick properly and dropped it more than once.
On Monday, he revealed further information: One of his fingers hasn’t yet healed, despite 11 weeks having ensued.
“My finger is still healing,” the defenceman said. “They say it’s going to heal, I just have to give it time.”
Edler added that he’ll probably have it looked at again next week.
Edler, Mikael Samuelsson and Marco Sturm were the only veterans skating in a group of eight Canucks on Monday.
“It’s been a short summer,” Edler said. “I never played that far (into June) before. August came a little quicker.
“Everyone is trying to spend as much time as they can at home, I guess. We’re a week or two behind.
“More guys will start coming in the next week or so.”
Hopefully Edler's finger heals up soon.

Oh, I don't know, maybe he just spent a week at grueling camp with one of the most popular hockey trainers where he skated with players like Stamkos, Skinner, Seguin, Cammalleri, Yakupov, Wolski, Downie and Neal. But no, how dare Hodgson not show up in town for a casual skate where they don't even have enough players to scrimmage.

Even Oreskovich has yet to be signed; something that shouldn't be particularly difficult. Maybe they just straight up aren't doing anything. Don't they normally also have their "State of the Franchise" address to season ticket holders by now as well? I remember last year they rolled out Manny and Hamhuis and had a good Q&A with the ST holders and streamed it on their site. Haven't heard anything about this years.

Looks like the Young Stars tournament is being shown on Sportsnet. At least some of them anyways. I see NHL Hockey at 7:30pm on September 11th and 4pm on September 12th on my Optik TV guide, which is when the Canucks play Edmonton and Calgary.

30 players are scheduled to report to Rogers Arena on Friday, September 9th for medicals and fitness testing. Players will be available to the media at Rogers Arena beginning at 9:30 a.m. Media should enter the building through Gate 16, located on Abbott Street.
Canucks prospects will practice in Penticton, BC, on Saturday, September 10th at 12:00 p.m. followed by media availability.
All eight games of the Young Stars Tournament will be available live on Canucks.com beginning September 11th.
