There are many in the Danish ice hockey scene who feel he's the best player Denmark has ever produced.

Some of these comparisons are so random. He plays somewhat like Carter (more so) or Eriksson (less so), just without the defensive game right now.

Does he sound like a muppet like Hansen when he talks?

He doesn't use his size to hit, but he definitely uses it to get into position (which is a result of his Hockey IQ, knowing where to be).

Unless you can show me video of him being a perimeter player that is contrary to the video I've already seen of him scoring in tight goals, then you're just hating.
1. Ala Grabner.

2. He has good offensive instincts, but not so good overall.

Like 2, but being the same weight and Jensen being taller means that Jensen still has to bulk up.

Yes there are, take B. Jenner for instance, he is far safer than Jensen.

I dont think the Canucks were looking for a 3rd liner. They were looking for a home run. He has the package to be a special player. I think the Canucks are going to develop him well. I dont understand why your arguing this pick so much. You should be happy. He'll have a strong year next year in his second year in the OHL. Look for 40+ goals. I think your just trying to set up the "I told you so card" because you were so high on Hodgson and Schroeder and their taking longer than first thought. In no way are they busts. Quit being such a pessimist you need with your hockey knowledge.

Niklas Jensen

With the recent rash of threads of 2011 first rounders i decided to make one on 29th pick Niklas Jensen. IMHO I see him topping out as a 70 point player. What do you guys think?

There's an official Nicklas Jensen thread.

However I think his highest potential will be like Jeff Carter...

Which I really hope

The Sens were supposed to have a lot of interest in him leading up to the draft. He has a good blend of size and skill, but 70 points is very optimistic.

His potential imo is a 2nd liner

So 70 points is career year material. Should get 50-60 points on average

I'm hoping for a 50-60 point 2nd liner who plays a very physical game. I know he isn't overly physical now, but that's common with many european players at first. Edler is an example on my Canucks, only these past 2 years has he actually started using his size to lay out big hits on the ice.

Consistant 25 goal guy though is his potential.

I think he's got big potential, and I think he'll be a top 6er at worst.

Great shot/loves to shoot, nice wheels, nice stride, handles the puck very nicely. His high end potential will probably depend a lot on his hockey sense.

He's looked good with the U20 so far. Put up 2g, 2a +3 in a 5-4 loss yesterday. Easily Denmark's best player.

Has also just scored the tying goal in a 3-3 draw against Shawnigan- a game that I'm unable to watch. Can anyone shed some light on his play today?

27 points in 24 games, (13G, 14A). Not bad but nothing special from him, I would've thought his points would spike from last years average PPG (0.95),but it's only up by 0.17%,(1.12 PPG). I'd like to see a bit more Offensive production out of him this year.

Just had a hattrick today against Peoria. Finished his regular season stint with the Wolves with 4 goals in 6 games.

I thought each AHL team could make 2 foreign player exemptions if they were between age 18-20. What happened to that?

For a guy barely above a point per game in the OHL as an 18 year-old? I can understand wanting to do away with the rule all together but making an exemption for Niklas Jensen of all players is pointless.

Jensen was drafted out of the OHL, thus he is a North American player.

His game is more suited for the AHL and NHL.
