RNH or Yakupov?

RNH was drafted 1st overall this year and Yakupov has a very good chance to end up 1st overall next year.

If both were in the same draft year and the chance is given to you to pick one of those 2, who would you pick?

Yakupov > RNH

And honestly, from what I've seen and read,

Yakupov > Hall
Yakupov ≥ Tavares
Yakupov > Duchene
Yakupov ≥ Stamkos
Yakupov > Kane

Yeah, I said it. The kid is a freakin' dynamo, one could argue the best offensive talent since Crosby himself.

Yakupov pretty easily. Not sure if he'll top Hall or Stamkos, though.

Arguable. And I'm not so sure that Yakupov is as good as Stamkos yet...

Yakupov has the potential to be the best goal scoring winger in the NHL, RNH has the potential to be a 1st line center. Pretty easy choice here.

Yakupov by a country mile. Yakupov is by far the most offensively gifted player to come out of the OHL in years.

I'll agree I went overboard on Tavares, but against Stamkos I actually prefer Yakupov's skill set more. Not a popular opinion, but I think Stamkos will always need a top playmaker to get the most out of his strengths, while Yakupov will be more along the lines of Crosby and Ovechkin in the sense that he can create offense on his own consistently. Not saying he's gonna be as good as Crosby, to be sure.

I don't think Mike Komisarek is better than RNH.

Oiler fan taking Yakupov. But seriously people are starting to overrate Yakupov.

I think when it's all said and done RNH will be the weakest forward taken first overall in a decade. Not to say he will be bad but it's tough to live up to Kovalchuk, Nash, Ovechkin, Crosby, Kane, Stamkos, Tavares, Hall and potentially Yakupov next year.

Yakupov without blinking, or thinking. The guy is literally the best offensive talent since Crosby and Ovechkin, I almost don't even think it's a debate.

Different leagues obviously, but year before draft year:
RNH (Red Deer Rebels) 67 games played, 24 goals, 41 assists, 65 points
T35th in assists, T45th in points, T66th in goals
Yakupov (Sarnia Sting 65 games played, 49 goals, 52 assists, 101 points
3rd in goals, T4th in Points, T11th in Assists

You can't really compare league to league stats, but you can compare them with their peers. And the difference is huge. From what I've seen from Yakupov, I'd give my left nut to have him on my team, he might be the sole reason I get OHL livestream this year.

Yakupov and I would also take Murray, Grigorenko and Ebert (Although I am partial towards players from Jersey) over RNH. No insult to RNH but those 4 prospects look to have so much potential. I might be eating those words for 1 or 2 of those guys in a years time but atm they look better. Hard to believe how strong next year will be.

I think Yakupov is pretty overrated on HF. Not that he isn't a top prospect, but I've seen a lot of people ranking him second to Grigorenko, so lets wait and see how his development goes this year before annointing Yakupov as a god.

Out of curiosity have you seen Yakupov play?
