I'll take the potential 2nd pairing defenseman over the seriously injured potential NHL backup any day....

True, but i was just stating he is our most NHL ready top-6 potential forward, not that it was my only criteria.

He's big (6'1" 220lbs) a good skater, and was a big producer prior to all the injuries. I'm not saying he's a lock, but IF he can stay healthy, I think he is the most likely guy in the short term to surprise.

Nieto is a pretty great pick where we got him, but he's quite a ways off yet, that's all. I would absolutely rank him next in terms of forwards. I think we'll have a better idea about the two of them after this season.

He is, but I don't see how that effects his ranking. It's not the kind of injury that will re-occur (it's nerve damage from a skate blade). Team stated they expect a 100% recovery, until I hear otherwise he's still my fav goalie in the system, followed by Sateri.

i'm a lot higher on Wingels than most. i see him as a good 3rd liner. Macintrye is a 4th liner if he even makes it. way too much hype on that guy because he got a one-way deal.

Edit:
hockeyball,

i think we will see more Wingels than Macintyre this season. Mac's numbers were terrible, and we saw Wingels made the team last year out of camp. IMO, he is closer to the NHL.

i was thinking of voting him initially, i guess i bumped him down beneath Braun or so because he's recovering from an injury.

Three things.

1) Based on the wide range of votes cast making singular blowouts less likely, I'm going to amend the 30/20 rule for early poll closure to a 30/15 rule. That means that after 30 votes have been cast, if any prospect pens up a 15 vote lead on their next closest competitor it will cause immediate victory for that prospect.

2) I suppose that 5-10 votes still work better than none, but we have a lot of people who aren't offering up their selections on who to add to the next poll. Conceivably Macintyre could've broken in this time if even 3 or 4 people who never gave an add vote had said him over Mashinter.

3) I normally don't like the questioning "you voted for X?!?!?!" posts because people can often justify their beliefs in scenarios like this, but if I were to assume that the "other" vote is for marcou based on who cast it, that's just mind-boggling (well, it would be if not for who was casting said vote). We all get that people often love prospects beyond rationality, but it makes almost no sense to believe that Marcou stacks up better than no less than 10-15 names on the list.

Mark my words: Short of a concerted, absurdist "Vote for Rory"-type campaign, James Marcou will not break the top 15 of these rankings. He didn't make the 2010 list either, and it took him until the 8th or 9th poll to even crack the voting list. And that was when we still had college hype to go on and not the resoundingly pedestrian AHL numbers he put up last year.

Oh, also colman your vote is voided because I specifically stated that anyone voting "other" has to state who they are voting for. Even if it's obvious, it's necessary for record keeping. So just like any real-world vote, an improperly filled out ballot cannot be counted.

He's played NHL games, so obviously you are correct in that regard, but I honestly don't see him having any top-6 potential. He just doesn't have the skills. MacIntyre supposedly never got 'together' after his injuries last year, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. If he doesn't perform this season, that'll be it though.

that was actually meant to start with the next spot. Plus I haven't been home until about 10 minutes ago.
