It has been stated several times that the price of the PSL is included in the price of the ACA season tickets.

It's not, the price in that section is $800 (plus the hidden cost of shipping for your tickets $15-$20) a year plus the cost of the PSL that I believe is $1,000.

Their package is $900 a year but when you subtract the $50 pay in full option and the $21 free membership you are down to $829.

No where is the $1,000 PSL cost included in the price.

But whatever, I am willing to give them a second chance to start this season.

My Season Tickets have a PSL and it is only $250 per seat. They spread the PSL out over 5 years so I am only paying an extra $50 per year on the PSL.

So the way I figured it was:

$799 Season ticket
50-100 per year for PSL
20 shipping

Grand total of $879 to $949

They are asking $875 so I am not to far off of the pricing with my numbers. They could have received a bulk purchase discount to put it right on track.

Edit: I have no proof that it is included but the numbers do make sense.

I'm not going to argue, because I really don't care, but both the ACA (Brian) and the CBJ announced that the PSL is part of the purchase price. Is it cheaper than regular tickets? Well, of course. Is the PSL discounted as well? I would say so. It's a special the CBJ put together for guys who want to stand and cheer the entire game. Wouldn't be my cup of tea for every game, but a good deal if that's your thing.

No. The CBJ did not condone their claiming "PSL perks without paying for a PSL". Check out the ACA page. They've removed that claim. Wonder why.

Like I said earlier, the founders seem to want a good thing for the CBJ land. I am softening my stance on the ACA though frankly the name is still screams ST LOUIS to me. I hope the couple of attention starved goofballs they've attracted will fall in line with the rest or get out of formation entirely (just going along with the "call to arms" theme.)

A louder, more energized arena will be a natural consequence of a better team. That's obvious. All are welcome, plenty of seats available for everyone folks! Let's not pit fan against fan.

Good catch, they did change the wording to "Receive the same benefits that all Full Season Ticket Holders receive". They are still getting full season tickets without the cost of the PSL, but are getting the benefits of non PSL holding STH such as the new non PSL 20 game plans and 10 game plans. This makes me feel better knowing this was addressed.

In case anyone is wondering what PSL holder benefits are over STH benefits go here http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=68118 anything with a * after it is a PSL holder only benefit. So no free food night for ACA.

I agree. I am just not into the whole envy, jealousy, not fair thing. If the ACA got a good deal, or whatever, more power to them.

These are tough times for everyone, and the Jackets are having a tough time as well. If they want to pass out some good deals to get fannies in the seats then more power to them

As far as the ACA goes, even better. They like to cheer and make a lot of noise, and I like that.

No offense intended to anyone here. To each, his own.

Let's get it on with the hockey!

As long as they (the ACA) do their job, I have no problem with the ACA getting a better deal.

I stand. I cheer. I bring groups of friends to games.

I want a better deal, too!

WTF are you talking about? If there were no PSL there would have never been a team. 12,000 PSLs had to be sold before the team was granted admission to the NHL. The PSL also provided the funding need to help financ the team. So if no "suckers" would have paid for a PSL there would be no Columbus Blue Jackets.

psl is a product sold by sports teams to up sell people

a psl is a one time purchase correct? for the sake of arguement, i believe they are around $1,500 correct?

for the sake of argument... lets assume over the course of their 10 year history the team has sold 50, 000 psl.. i think thats a very generous estimation

simple math.... 1500 x 50 = $75, 000

$75,000 is a drop in the bucket

i appreciate the fact that the nhl forced the program on us and required the team sell a certain amount to get the team.... but at this point... ten years later.. limited the creative options the marketing people have available, because of a small amount of money they collected in up sales.

Your math is a little off. You are assuming they have sold 50,000 PSL's but only multiplied by 50. 1,500 X 50,000 = $75,000,000 not $75,000

I personally don't think they have sold 50,000 PSL's. Also there costs range from $250 on up.

The fist 12,000 PSLs raised over $20,000,000.

Anyway this is getting off topic since ACA has changed their wording and are no longer saying they are getting PSL benefits. I no longer have any problem with the deal they got and wish them luck for this season and hope they fix their problems from last season.

Unless something has changed in the past couple years the cheapest PSL is 1,000. Are you sure that $250 is not per year over 4 years? I know they were doing a payment plan like that over the past couple of years.

im so ****ing embarrased i forgot to throw the zeros in... i had the number in my head

my point remains.. when compared to the general operating budget over 10 years psl sales are a small fraction.. there is more money to be made offering perks to groups and people indivdually

100% sure. My PSL's were $250 each payable over 5 years. I am paying $50 per seat over the next 5 years.

This is why I was saying that the pricing for ACA might actually include the PSL costs.

This is true for the everyday operation of the team. Where the PSLs really mattered was the needed start up money to bring the team here. Again no PSLs no team.

Where are your seats? Did you get the new $15 seats at the top of the arena?
