I've been wondering this lately ; When does the bottom hand grip the stick tightly?
I know when stick handling you're suposed to have a loose bottom hand on the shaft so you can slide your hand and have more range of control, but when do you grip the stick?
So basicly say what hand does what like this:
Stick handling : Top hand tight, bottom hand loose
Saucer pass : ...
Shooting : Top hand tight, bottom hand tight
Toe drag : ...
Honestly the only time I can think of me tightening up my lower hand is just when Im shooting or passing. Oh that and also when Im fighting for the puck obviously.
You dont really ever want a tight grip. You want a firm grip while shooting or passing but you always want to stay loose because too much tension can effect the accuracy of your shots and passes.
