Can you believed I turned down a straight swap of Halak for Kari earlier this year? Ginblossoms must be rolling that I turned it down.

Ouch. I was getting a good feeling about Kari before the season started. If I hadn't already been set in goal by the 4th round I would've loved to have him.

I usually try to avoid drafting my favorite team's goalie in fantasy just so I'm not super disappointed when we lose. And at the time I wasn't sold on Gully or Kari not getting injured, and thought the Blues would be really good this year.

Oh well.

Well he might in the future but I've got 3 shutouts this week so all his good play is for naught. For fantasy anyway.

My David Booth pick is looking pretty good right now. I actually thought this might happen - not Vancouver necessarily, but a better team than Florida. Tallon is sweeping out all of the old guard.

Trade is a huge win for Vancouver IRL.

well I'm going to lose all 5 goaltending categories this week because I was in hearings all friday and due to an oversight neglected to put Cam Ward in for the game against St. Louis. I didn't notice until today that I only had 2 starts.

I'm basically counting on one of either Jason Labarbera or Dan Ellis to make some appearance tomorrow night.

I'm in even more of a pickle now. Garon and Elliot both have won 2 in a row making it so that BOTH my main goalies probably aren't getting a start for a bit. I dont want to drop Rolly/Halak because I'm sure they'll come back to take the job eventually, but literally both my #1 goalies are on the bench for the conceivable future.

What to do what to dooo.

Age may finally be catching up to Roloson. He played well with Tampa last season but it's not as if he had set the world on fire before that. I think he's playing down more to his normal self right now. I dropped him in my other league and didn't really think twice about it.

Ya well in this league we don't really have other viable goalie options unless Garon takes over as the starter.

Looks like it's my lucky day!

Not sure how anybody will beat your faceoffs this year. I truly don't see it happening.

well I'm just going to start both of them and hope either Hiller or Smith gets either hurt or pulled. It's all I can do.

At first glance, I'm headed towards another lopsided defeat.

BUT:

One back in points (28 to 27)

One back in faceoffs (120 to 119)

One back in hits (41 to 40)

One back in wins (2 to 1)

One back in losses (1 to 2)

One up in PIMs (31 to 30)

If I wasn't relying solely on Cam Fowler to save my team tomorrow, I'd feel a lot better about my chances, lol.

Send a message via ICQ to ginblossoms
funny thing is that i didn't realize halak was still available when i drafted kari. (note that this realization didn't help against quick's 3 shutouts & vokoun's shutout this week).

that said, a variation of the deal could still be had. of course, it wouldn't be a straight up offer anymore. i'd want to upgrade somewhere else.

This is why I'm no good at pools. I can draft a decent team but I don't have the attention span to actually swap the players in who need to play.

Usually by this time I would have checked out myself but I have a feeling this would be a very rewarding win if I could pull it off.

You could probably set your entire week in less than 5 minutes easily, barring injury you're good to go for the week.

ahh I see piqued is getting aboard the faceoff train.

I was very sorry to let Hanzal go, and as it turns out I didn't need an extra goalie gp at all... so I lost out on a great depth player for nothing

ah well, there's plenty more where he came from.

I won the faceoff category the past 2 weeks but it was only because of who I played. I have the 3rd worst totals in the league and I beat the only 2 people below me. I'm just being totally dwarfed by you and really most of the league so that has to change. Some of my supposed centers have been playing on the wing which hasn't helped.

I'm actually looking forward to the Stars/Coyotes game on Tuesday now. With Fiddler and Hanzal I'll be rooting for as many icings as Daley/Robidas and co. can muster.

Do you guys regularly check the trading block?

I have a glut of centers and not enough wingers. I made a change to my trading block status in the league reflecting this I just don't know how many people actually check there.

Hey everyone, since you guys are talking fantasy hockey and I don't want to create a new thread I'm wondering if you can fill me in on Morrow. Always liked him but I'm worried that he's slowing down. Have the opportunity to acquire him in a points-only keeper league and I'm wondering where you see him points-wise in the next 2 seasons. Does he still look like a guy that could hit 60 or so? Or is he settling into being a 45-55 point guy? Thanks in advance.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I'm one of those two, as I have like one center that actually takes draws.
