Honestly he looked horrible in the game. Lots and lots of turnovers including one that led directly to a goal.

Hopefully another couple of years in development will do him some good.

I like these lines. I wasn't crazy about Marty and Stammer with Conacher. Two small guys on one line tends to not go so well.

I did like the Connolly-Stammer-Marty line in particular.

No Ohlund. Think he's gotten a quasi-suspension from the team for his quick exit last night?

I am unable to see any of the training camp, but was wondering if anyone has any prediction on what they think the final lineup will look like?

They're shooting the video intro for the season with the Florida Orchestra, and will have Boucher as conductor.

Lightning fans on Twitter seemed to be having a semi-serious nervous breakdown over that earlier today. I don't get it. Am I the only person that thinks that it's a cool idea?

There is a possibility that it could be cool, and I have my faith that the team will nix any embarrassing footage but the potential for calamity is still so high. Normally you try to avoid potentially embarrassing situations altogether. This seems to be confronting it head-on.

I don't like the Mario-ifcation (as in Super Mario Bros.) of Guy Boucher. It's something we can do on here because it's silly enough to forget. When the team has him act as a conductor, go-kart driver, cowboy, wizard, or Mr. Monopoly, it gets difficult to take him seriously ever again.

Anything less than head on, balls to the wall would not be INTENSE!

I know people are seeing a potential disaster of epic proportions ala Ottawa Senators Spartan guy, but all will be well. In Vinik & Leiweke we trust.

Just saw your edit. I disagree, in that I don't think this orchestra conductor bit is really over the top or something that makes Boucher look silly, or at least in my mind it's not. Obviously I don't know for sure, but if I were to guess, I would say it's probably something that he would actually enjoy. I just don't see ownership allowing the kind of overt goofiness that you're worried about, nor do I think that Boucher would have any problem saying **** no if they did want that.

I meant the edit as a general statement on Mario-ification. I didn't mean to intend that's what was happening.

I don't get the uproar (if you can even call it that) over this. Seems pretty cool and I doubt the Bolts would be very campy or flippant about it.

The uproar is because people in Florida are generally stupid and highly resistant to change.

Actually I think its because A) People didnt know there WAS a FL Orchestra, or B) They thought Boucher was leaving the Lightning to become the conductor of said Orchestra.

When I imagine Boucher as a conductor I imagine my high school's band director but about 10 times more intense. He was pretty neurotic when it came to music. We all dreaded the Monday after FCAT because he was seriously pissed if he couldn't conduct us for a week. Like miss one note on a sight reading piece and get *****ed at for 5 minutes pissed.

No, it's probably not that.

Nowadays, an embarrassing video can/will haunt someone for the rest of their life. There's currently faith the team will not allow that to happen, but it still happens. (see YouTube)

Even in our team's illustrious history, they've had stupid ass video intros. Having actual team personnel act like idiots is a very real concern.

Not to mention that Boucher is not only acting, but acting as an artsy-farty artist type (as many people will see it, effeminate) and that's a recipe for disaster.

Yes the team has done some stupid stuff in the past, although the worst thing about that intro was the Together We Will, but this isn't OK Hockey we're dealing with anymore.

Hey guys how does Richard Panik look? saw him play in the World Juniors and for Guelph last year. Really love his game. Reminds me of Hossas skill with more toughness. Hes still young so I doubt hes doing a whole lot in camp.

Brett Connolly, Mattias Ritola, Cory Conacher, Dana Tyrell and Carter Ashton are all in the lineup for a second or third consecutive game which will go a long way for the Tampa Bay brass in figuring out the large cuts that are expected Sunday.

"It's starting to be a little too hard now," coach Guy Boucher said after Friday's 5-2 victory over Florida at the St. Pete Times Forum. "We're going back and forth about who's going to be playing (today)."
Quote:
"They're sticking and making it hard for us," Boucher said of his youngsters. "Last year we were struggling to see who we were going to get in our lineup to fill our lineup. Now, it's the opposite. We're going to have to cut guys who belong in the NHL. It's all good."
