Joey Vandetta Tweeted that he saw Wade last night in Yorkville. Apparently Wade was in good spirits. I doubt he took his own life.

RIP Wade.

Something has to be done about fighting, these deaths are becoming less and less of a coincidence.

It matters if the Sun is slandering his name for no good reason. If I knew him personally, I would be furious about that.

But you're right, it doesn't bring him back and it sucks.

This is truly upsetting.

I really can't process this. One of my favourite players to wear the Blue and White - such a big heart.

Uuuuuuugggghhh.

Terrible news.

He was hanging out with former NHLer Todd Simpson last night.

For what it's worth, Belak seemed like the happiest, funniest guy in hockey. Had two young daughters. Just so damned sad.

He doesn't seem to be the "type", and I don't mean any disrespect to the likes of Boogard or Rypien. He just seemed happy and always in the media, on twitter, he was very involved in his public persona.

But, unfortunately, he's passed away, and regardless of the reason, it's a terrible loss. RIP.

I feel sick about this. He had a young family and an incredible life still very ahead of him.

We need to remember him by the guy who always had a smile on his face, or more importantly this beautiful shiny moment in hockey history:

Awful news hearing of Wade Belak's death. He was scheduled to join me in studio today at 12:30 and never showed. Now we know why. Crazy.

Jesus.

This is awful news.

I am sorry, Leafs fans. Sad day, and sad summer for hockey with all the losses we have had.

RIP Belak.

Prayers and thoughts to the Belak family. I can't and don't want to imagine what they are going through right now.

This is awful news , he was probably one of the best enforcers the leafs ever had and had a great personality,
In 2 Leafs Ive been to he had a fight (04 against Colorado) to which almost everyone in the ACC chanted BELAK BELAK BELAK ,
and in 06 against the Bruins he potted an assist

RIP you will be missed

Poor kids. I have two little girls, you never want them to know anything but happiness.

Wade Belak has one of the best personality in NHL, some of his funny interviews that brought smiles to our faces...

and finally, his famous knock out on DONALD BRASHEAR

Thanks for all the memories Wade, may you rest in peace.

So sad. Sometimes I'm upset cause I can't find a job after just graduating but it's time like these that makes me realize I have it pretty darn good.
I have no idea how Wade passed away, but to anyone who has never dealt with depression or anxiety, people can 'seem' perfectly fine and normal and jovial but inside could be a whole different story. I'm just saying this because even though Wade might have seemed happy and in good spirits, it doesn't really matter, no one knows what's going on in someone's head.
Anyways, however he passed on is no matter now, he's gone. I just hope his wife and children will be okay as they will never be the same again. I hope there is a life after death and if there is one, may you rest there in peace Belak.
Best moment ever is him going at it with Janssen after his dirty hit on Kaberle. He did something that all fans of the Leafs wanted someone to do. RIP

R.I.P Belak, you'll always remain as one of my favourite Toronto Maple Leafs in history and you'll be missed by Leaf and hockey fans world wide.
