Kings are reportedly looking at moving Scuderi. Campoli is still out there as stated. I'd prefer we replaced Rozy with a physical presence. I just don't think he adds much. I'm not sure if there's one available worth binging in though. I loved what I saw in OEL last year. I still don't know why he wasn't in the lineup more. Everybody talks about his skill but I was impressed how he dealt with the physical part of the game at his age. I'm really hoping he is playing a lot in the second pairing this year. I'd be happy going into the season with
Yandle/Morris
OEL/Scuderi or Campoli
Aucoin/Klesla
Schlemko/Gormely/Gonch/Summers all pushing the bottom pair

Rozsival was 2nd only to Yandle in TOI/G and was only a -3 compared to Yandles -5 in the Detroit series.

Moving any one of our top six D would be a mistake. We need all of them, and probably more.

Campoli? Seems like change for the sake of it. Plus, I disagree with you on the flexibility front. Rozsival has just one year left on his deal. Can the same be said for Campoli? We shall see.

I feel no need to tinker with the top six.

Edit: Scuderi is intriguing.

Also moving Rozsival is not an easy task, from what I can remember isnt his contract around $5Mil?

A) Will they trade him and B) would it be to a division opponent.

Rozy's cash payout is a lot less than his cap hit which is why a low payroll team looking for a vet Dman like NYI might be a good fit. I didn't know he was injured. I just know I wasn't impressed with what I saw on the ice. If we can improve a spot on D it won't hurt our goalie situation.

Over the season Aucoin did, but if you only consider their time together after the Yotes acquired Rozy:

- Rozy 19:24 TOI/G, Aucoin 19:13 TOI/G. Rozy played more minutes in 16 of the 26 full games they played together.

- Rozy also picked up 6 points in those games to Aucoin's 4.

Cap hit $5m, salary only $3m.

If you wanted to move him only a non-cap team would have any interest.

That's worth noting, and I appreciate the input. I'd still take Aucoin over Rozy. I take it you wouldn't.

I just think that there are other options out there that would provide similar skill sets and production to Rozy for a lot less money. And the savings provided might mean the difference between a mid-season/trade deadline upgrade or not.

Korpikoski-Langkow-Doan
Whitney-Hanzal-Vrbata
Pyatt-Turris-Boedker
Torres-Nokelainen-Gordon
MacLean-Bissonnette

Tippett likes to have some flexibility in his lineups, so Korpikoski and Pyatt may flop places every now and again.

Nokelainen at C is where he was playing for us two years ago, but Gordon will tend to handle face-offs, at least in the defensive zone.

MacLean shows us something, and Pyatt becomes expendable.

If we are short at C, Korpikoski or Gordon slides into a C role, and we play Mac or Biz. Speaking of short at C, when is Turris going to sign already?

Unless we run into scoring issues, I don't think there's much room for him.
Good post, I think the same way and just can't see MacLean making it. Sorry.
