Jack Capuano interview

http://www.fan590.com/ondemand/media...31_125657_5592

I've grown to like this Capuano guy. He sounds like a real coach, a likable leader. Doesn't come across like the deer-in-the-headlights guy in the first couple of weeks after Gordon was fired.

I hope he does well this year, and the team of course.

He touches on DiPietro, Tavares, Montoya, Grabner training camp. Nothing earth-shattering but very interesting for Sept 1st hockey starved NYI fans

I like Jack, just wish he would comb his hair once in a while

I hated Jack at first...probably because of the situation he was thrusted into and he just didn't seem like a very good coach. But yeah, I've grown to like him.

And plus, I really loved him in Animal House...

Comb it!? How about CUT it? He looks like a plumber masquerading around as an NHL Coach.

He sounds smarter than he looks.

He has a good pulse on the team and he apparently knows what other people are thinking and saying about his team. That's a sign of intelligence imo.

Seems like he will do what is best for the team, and push back against Wang/Snow interference.

I came to like Jack as well. He does some classic press conferences as well as doesn't hold back. Him and Gordon are night and day.

He also looks like he parties all night and shows up to the rink for the games.

He seems like a great guy and coach, I think he's perfect for our team. He looks like a guy who stay's up until 1 A.M., and eats cereal, and watches soap opera's.

My thoughts on him exactly, but I love the guy as coach so far. He really gets the young guys to click, something Gordon couldn't do.

I just wish he would not say "Obviously" every fifth word! Other than that I like him.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who noticed that

It really annoyed me the way many Islander fans on this board were nothing but critical of Cappy when he first arrived. I felt he needed to be given a chance. As last season progressed, I grew more and more confident in his coaching ability. I'm glad to have him behind the bench and look forward to his second season on the Island.

don't go lookin' at me, hippie. I was ready to coronate anyone who got Scrotum out. Honestly I welcomed him as a Butch Goring type coach, though I couldn't resist calling him Flounder (Which I can say in front of clergy unlike what I call Gorton to this day).

our season was done like dinner before we even reached the 30 game mark so there was alot of reasons to be pissed off during the gordon firing / capuano take over.
