Those TSN numbers are shockingly low, aren't they? Outside of the last game, anyhow. What did TSN average last season?
I can't ask this in the other threads because they are all closed.
I did searched but could not come up with the data I need.
I want to compare the SCF ratings from 2008-2011.
I want to compare:
1) The ratings for the markets involved in each year's SCF
2) The overall ratings overall for the US in the SCF for those seasons
3) The final game ratings for the markets involved and overall
Example:
-2008 PIT-DET, I want what the total ratings were nationally for that series, what they were for game 7 overall, what they were for the series overall in PIT and DET
I want to compare that to 2009, 2010, and 2011.
I want to know basically how PIT and DET did for ratings when they were in the finals compared to CHI and PHI in 2010 and BOS in 2011.
Does anybody have all those stats?
I can get what the ratings were nationally in the 2009 finals game 7, but I cannot get what the overall ratings were nationally in 2009, nor what PIT and DET got overall and for game 7.
2008
A. Overall national SCF ratings were _______?
B. Game 6 SCF national ratings were _______?
C. PIT and DET overall SCF ratings were ____?
D. PIT and DET game 6 ratings were _______?
Sure they will. I bet St. Louis is will be close to.
if you work in Sports Radio, (Fox, ESPN, or Yahoo), it'll be a topic for discussion, but actual ratings won't be done for a while, but will local/national callers outside of Dallas/Ft.Worth/Arlington aka the Metroplex be focused on other events, (Cowboys) just as St. Louis is about the Cardinals outside all of the other sports happening in October, which has included college FB, The NFL, NASCAR, and the recent dual tragedy that hit Indycar last week and MOTOGP today IS still affecting posters here..... in fact you don't or won't hear hockey talk on ESPN's The Herd.... no one has called JT the Brick (Fox Sports Radio), to even discuss either Texas OR St. Louis....
Game 2 earned a 49.4 rating in St. Louis, up 4% from Cardinals/Tigers Game 2 in 2006 (47.5).
In Dallas-Ft. Worth, Thursday’s game earned a 34.4 rating — up 11% from Rangers/Giants Game 2 last year (30.9). By comparison, Game 2 of this year’s Mavericks/Heat NBA Finals drew a 25.6 rating in the market, and Game 2 of the 2006 Heat/Mavericks series drew a 33.9.
(sportsmediawatch)
STL beat that rating already.
A game 7 would do a 60 here or higher.

^ Why are the numbers less than 2009 numbers? Is there anything to explain that? Or is it just that more people wanted to watch in 2009 as compared to 2011?
The network’s broadcast of Flyers/Sabres drew 558,000 viewers to the network that night, marking the highest-rated November NHL game in VERSUS history. There was no comparable game last year, but the most-watched November game last season drew 390,000 viewers (STL/CHI, 11/30/10).

My only explanation would be, less games televised in 09 and a lot more exclusive games where the home markets of the teams playing had to watch on Versus.
versus doesn't really care about the cumulative ratings. They likely sell NHL ad time in different sections. Like the main exclusive block goes first with the games that they know will rate lower get sold differently. No chance advertisers will pay the same rate.
Full Exclusive telecasts might break 400K for the season average this season. That would be up like 150% from year one.
Tuesday night’s Bruins-Devils game earned a season best 5.3 HH Rating on NESN, the 3rd highest regular season rating in network history. The previous best HH rating this season was on Monday, November 7 when NESN garnered a 5.2 HH rating for a game against the Islanders. NESN’s season average is now at 3.9 HH rating, which is up 46% over last year after the same number of games.

My guess is that 2010 was less than 2009 because Comcast and Directv couldn't agree upon a contract for Dtv to carry Versus (until later in the year). 2011 is down because there are significantly more games on Versus this season - thus giving the viewers more options to choose from.
Sabres Ratings Up in October: Through the first month of the 2011-12 NHL season, Sabres games on MSG Network averaged an 8.3 rating in the Buffalo TV market, up 15% from last year (7.2), and up 24% from 2009 (6.7). Excluding afternoon games, Sabres games have averaged a 9.3 rating. The October 14 Hurricanes/Sabres game earned the season’s largest rating so far, with an 11.5.
