Rather amazed at how well Clarke MacArthur has done with the Leafs. He never showed that much with the Sabres, and I'd have laughed at you if you had suggested he would develop into a 60 point player.

I really didn't like Duncan Keith at first. He always seemed frantic and jumpy and he moved around too much. I don't remember saying I didn't think he'd amount to much or that I didn't think he'd ever be good, but I just remember watching him and thinking to myself "what is this guy doing"?

YES. Thank you. He earned his rep as our whipping boy, but he did a decent job in the playoffs. Nothing special, but he really wasn't bad at all. He was lightyears ahead of Huskins.

I thought Rob Schremp and Gilbert Brule were going to be great players. Angelo Esposito as well, but I guess there's still time for that one.

Wayne Gretzky. I was watching some of his highlights and I realized he scored a ton of Datsyuk style breakaway goals. He's the original, sometimes I forget about that.

The music is terrible, but it's Gretzky.

I thought Brandon Bochenski was gonna be a sure-fire NHLer.

I had pegged Andrew Brunette as a AHL level scorer that would fill in on bad teams, after about 4 years, I finally figured that he was a NHL scorer..... Sorry Andrew!

I thought Marchand was just a 4th liner with some grit.

I thought Zach Hamill might actually be decent NHL material. (To think if they picked Couture )

I thought Thomas was a one-season thing.

Not a player, but I thought every Boston team would win 5 championships before the Bruins did. (Said this after the 2010 season, after the huge choke)

Wrong x4. I'm leaving a lot out, too. I was really pessimistic with the Bruins, even though they've always been my favorite.

I though Grabovski was at best a fringe top 6 centre who wouldn't improve much on his rookie years numbers.

I also though Giguere would bounce back from his terrible 08-09 year when his father died and become a top 10 goalie again.

After Heatley's second year in the NHL I thought he was going to be the best player in the league for a good 10 years. I also thought Zherdev was going to be a star in the league for a long time boy was I wrong.

Mikhail Grabovski.

His attitude problems are gone, and he's got an amazing work ethic. Kulemin has definitely helped him in this department.

Mark Streit for me. When the Isles signed him I figured he'd be an overpaid, so so offensive d-man who'd get exposed playing on the island. I was way off. What an awesome player.

Both my dad and I were wrong when we said Carey Price won't turn out to be that good of a goaltender.

Grabovski

I thought he was going to be another Suglobov/Gamache.

Glad I was wrong.

I thought Anton Strålman would turn into a solid NHLer. I thought Luongo would turn into the best goalie in the world.

Carey Price.

I was on the hate wagon, and thought he wouldn't do anything.

I don't want to post an "I was wrong" sentence about my own team because I don't think they count, so I'll say I didn't think Grabovski would ever pan out to the way he is now. His first season in Montreal I remember him being fast and good with the puck but he got worse and looked like he was just playing on nerves at the beginning. He's a good player now and I'm happy he is because when he was in Montreal I was really pulling for him.

For the negative... I thought Heatley and Thornton together would be the best combo the NHL has seen (to exaggerate a bit). I thought they were each gonna hit a hundred points, but I guess they didn't have the chemistry they were supposed to.
