I guess maybe they could do temporary Islander tattoos during intermissions for kids, you know start them young!!!

What a surprise, this organization does something that's bush-league and embarrassing... That's never happened before.

Kings Avenue should be the official shop for the Isles. Especially since they are an actual tattoo shop.

It's probably more for a person that can't get into the game but also wants a tattoo. I think it's a stupid idea but that's all I could think of. I also doubt their tats will be cheap either. I bet the rent is going to be steep so neither will their tats.

it's interesting. but i just don't see who is going to get a tat after they just spent x amount of dollars getting a ticket to watch a hockey game.

Getting into the game is not a problem besides for opening night, and maybe some rangers games.

I thought of that, but why go through the trouble of going to a game you don't care about, dealing with traffic, paying for seats and parking and paying for the tattoo plus whatever premium is tacked on instead of just going to a tattoo shop?

This will probably bring in about as many casual fans as the "Blueline Band" did for the pre-lockout Penguins. Just typing their name is making me cringe.

Just wait until a couple of fans have one too many, then pass by that tattoo stand. Yikes!

Sorry but there is nothing bush-league and embarrassing about tattoos or piercings.

I'm guessing they're going more so for those who with maybe a beer or two and some peer pressure will make that spontaneous decision permanent. Plus if they're open before and after the game, that'll help as well.

well its not a bad idea to team up with a high end tattoo shop in general, but I am not sure about having them at games.

While having a tattoo parlor at games seems a little strange to me as another poster mentioned, I don't see anything that embarrassing about it. Perhaps the argument could be made that it's not kid-friendly but there's a whole lot of alcohol, violence, and sexuality (ice girls, Oilers cheerleaders) on display at games anyways. I wonder if Lou'd set up shop full time in the Lighthouse.

By the way, OP, I like the new look of your site.

It's less painful than watching the Isles play

There is about a professional sports team choosing to be sponsored by a parlor though, and having it set up at home games to do tattoos/piercings while the team is playing.

I've gotten a tattoo from Tattoo Lou's and I get a lot of compliments on it. They do pretty good work, but I think it's pretty lame that the Islanders want them to be at the Coliseum during games.

I dont see why anyone would get tattoos there. It makes sense to have artists there, but not to have them actually doing tattoos. Anyone with any sense interviews artists before they let them permanently mark their bodies. A lot of people at Isles games (or any games) are prospective buyers, and having 15k people walk by your artists, trying to kill time in intermission, and being able to ask questions would be great for business.

Yeesh... I dunno about this move. Seems like something a minor league team would do.

Maybe silly hat night is next? Or flash your boobs and get a free t-shirt night?

Also, this sounds like something the Chiefs would have done in Slap Shot.
