all pickard coming to nashville does is keeps him practicing while giving Rinne and in some cases Lindback some rest. nothing more, nothing less. You won't see him under scratches. It is no different than some teams having local rec league goalies at practice. For Chet, it does give him more time with Korn anf nhl compittion, which is not a bad thing
anf after I type that they call him up

Obviously Chit (filter-proof spelling!) Pickard is with the team for practice dummy purposes, but this allows the brain trust to make the decision of moving into the future without him having given him every conceivable opportunity to prove his worth.
wow. Im a little surprised since our playoff seed and home ice are up for grabs.
almost makes you wonder if Peks has a little tweak or something, or asked for a day off...
Trotz said his first priority for the playoffs was to make sure Pekka was rested and ready. But this makes me wonder a little. Pekka usually plays better with a hectic schedule. So now he'll get 2 games in 10-12 days. Might be Trotz's Ministry of Mis-information at work here.
A buddy of mine in the office said that on NHL Network this morning, they were saying that Lindback has the most upside of any backup goalie in the league (not Rask?). If GM's concur, we may be able to score a first before the draft.

I think we keep him..... and trotz needs to utilize him more next year...
not fair to Lindy....but i think it's the best for the team..

As good as Lindy is, what's the point if the back-up is only going to play 12-15 games a season? I know there's always risk of injury, but I'd personally take my chances and sign a vet backup and grab the first (if that's the return).

It just shows how important a puck-moving d-man on the 2nd pairing is. Josi did a great job this season, even replacing Weber a couple of games on the first pairing.
Because he plays in Nashville he goes largely unnoticed in the media, but I think Josi is in terms of potential right up there with other emerging young d-men like Fowler, Kulikov or even Pietrangelo. Sure, he doesn't play the same role as they do on their respective teams, but the upside is there and he is learning from the best. IMO there is no better place for a young defenseman than Nashville, not even Detroit.
I really think trotz has done what he has done before when we started giving up 4-5 goals regularly... He has everyone playing lockdown/no mistake hockey and just hoping for a goal or two on offense.. Once they get that down pat they will loosen up a bit on offense.

I was thinking the last few games have been hard nosed defense first hockey. Seems they are gearing up for the playoffs.
Finding it a little funny that when the re-alignment was proposed there were so many Preds fans against it and one of the central points to the argument was the success of Dallas and Minnesota early in the season. Particularly Minnesota who at the time had the best record in the league.

Neither of those teams qualified for the playoffs
Suter and Parise will change that for the wild, right?
Here we go with ammunition for all "non fans" to make excuses because of confusion. I just read that SportSouth will have local tv coverage of Wednesday's game instead of the earlier announced CNBC. Does anyone know if that will extend into the Knoxville market, or will they get the CNBC feed? Also, can someone please note the channel numbers for SportSouth connected with Direct, Comcast, and Dish. Thanks in advance.
