Was a total bust. If Mitch Korn can't turn you into a serviceable goalie, you suck. Another first round pick wasted.

im a firm believer in goalies developing into NHLers a crapshoot. i dont want to see a goalie drafted no earlier than the 3rd-4th round.. plus, with korn mentoring them you gotta like our chances of finding another rinne in the next 7 years.. pekka was a 7th round pick if memory serves me well.

8th (doesn't even exist anymore), but the point remains.

2004. Great quote from his wiki article...

Quote:
He was signed by the Predators on August 23, 2005 and began his North American playing career with the Predators' top minor league affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL). Initially Rinne was slated to be the backup for Brian Finley, but Rinne became the starter as a consequence of Finley's poor play.

What is the deal with getting the Authentic version of the Preds home jersey from NHL.com? I tried like a month before the playoffs last year, but NHL.com didn't even have the option for it (they had the away and thirds, but not home). I attributed it to purchase volume before the playoffs. Shelved the purchase for a while, then decided to pull the trigger on an Erat jersey, but there is still no option for a home jersey. What is the deal here? Link to the page is below:

He is the first Nashville Predator 1st rounder to not play in at least one NHL game. 1998-2008 is a good streak though.

Honestly, we have missed on a lot of well thought of goalies. Wasn't lasak a 2nd rounder too? Smith seems to be the only early pick that may Work out to some degree as a goalie.

Does him going to Sweden mean he's no longer out property? Didn't see anything about a buyout. He still has one year remaining on his deal so maybe a year away does him some good.

Anyone know what the deal is with Tom Callahan's tweet regarding his ticketmaster promo code?

He tweeted out a link with a promo code to save some $$$'s on single game tix, but the linky no worky.

I usually buy my tix through stubhub, but would rather buy them through the Preds (I just hate the ticketmaster fee), but if I can buy a few weekend games using the code, so much the better for the Preds.

The Essential

For those of you who read the PuckDaddy blog on Yahoo they have recently been coming out with a post detailing the "Essentials" for each team. The most recent one here:
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu...2276--nhl.html

So, for the Preds what are your essentials?
Player: Shea Weber.
Season: 2007-2008 The toughest for me because you have the inaugural season, first season with p/o's, first p/o victory, first p/o victory over the red wings, all great seasons. But this was the season that I think really galvanized the fan support for the Preds and the play that season with the blue collar roster (and I mean blue collar, look at that roster) was magnificent, especially the last few games of the season when we came back against STL to make the playoffs and won 2 at home against Detroit in the following series. Also the ownership fiasco the summer before and the introduction of the new ownership group are significant to that season as well.
Game: Game 6 vs Anaheim in 2011. Also a case could be made for the first home p/o game.
Goal: Jerred Smithson's OT goal against the Ducks. Couldn't have been more perfect. fourth line center receives a beautiful pass from Jordin Tootoo of all people to win the first game 5, first ot playoff game in franchise history. Also a case could be made for Leggy's home playoff goal in Game 3 in 2004.
Trade: If I knew more about trades involving our draft picks maybe I could find a better candidate but the Sullivan trade wins it for me.
Unsung Hero: Martin Erat/David Legwand?
Franchise Villain: Jim Balsillie
Fight: Belak vs Brashear from 09.
Coach: Trotz
Broadcaster: Weber
Arena Behavior/Tradition/Trend: Section 303 and their chants
Arena Food: (Only been to 3 actual games, didn't eat there. Funnelcakes? I don't know.)
Swag (jersey, hat, gear, etc): Mustard 3rds or current gold homes.

Local radio personality Adam Davis was running through a rehearsal of the Nashville Predators' human hockey puck promotion last December when things went awry. Now, he's suing the Predators organization and Bridgestone Arena management in Davidson County Circuit Court to recover medical costs totaling more than $25,000.

I wish I was a judge, I'd throw so many of these stupid money grubbing lawyer driven lawsuits out.

Also, if he was working at the time, doesn't workers comp pay for this?

Without a waiver signed, I don't think so.
