Hmf. Of course they have a tournament after my rookie GDT debut...

Is there a financial benefit to buying concert tickets at the Nationwide box office over Ticketmaster online?
Looking to get Blake Shelton tickets for Fri and since I'll be at Nationwide for CBJ Tues, I thought about asking before going to Ticketmaster and their fees.

Depends on the fees and how many tickets you're buying.
Personally, I always buy from the box office when I'm able to.

Edit: Just checked on this case out of curiosity. Fee is $8.15 per ticket for the cheaper ones, $11.65 for the higher ones.

Are the fees the same online and through boxoffice?
Thanks in advance!

I'd call and double check before you make your trip, but I don't think there are any fees when you buy direct from the box office.

Ticketmaster's justification for the fees is the convenience of buying them at home or at Kroger or wherever that isn't the box office.

Mystery solved. I was downtown anyway, so I stopped and got the tickets. NO FEES if bought at the box office.

I showed up for my beer league game last night, and while we were all sitting around the locker room getting ready for the game, they handed me a present. It was my son's very first set of hockey skates.

so...

That. Is. ADORABLE.

(He needs a stick, tho! How can you play hockey without your hockey stick? )

Check out the tiny foot peeking out above the skate. Too cute for words.

It's hard to tell from the picture because my wife's hands are partly covering it, but he has a crocheted hockey stick in Blue Jackets colors there. It's made of yarn, so that makes it a 0.5 flex

Yeah we put him in the jersey and hat and he got all warm and promptly fell asleep. I tickled him just enough to get his eyes open, and he pulled his foot out of the skates. You can see he has a LONG way to go to grow into them.

At the rate we're going with injuries, we may need him.

Congratulations Tom!

E league team

Hey everyone. Not sure if this is the best thread to put this in so please feel free to move/delete but I am trying to get an E league team together for the summer session at the Chiller. If anyone is interested please email me or PM me on here. Just looking to get some folks to have fun and play a little beginner hockey. No one will be turned away...unless you are too good. :-) Thanks!

Perspective

I may be out of line here, if so, so be it. Mods, you can delete if you wish. But as I hear the outcry over Rick Nash and our beloved Jackets, I am moved to write this to remind myself, and maybe others, of keeping things in perspective. We have heard of the tragic news out of Chardon of the senseless killings yesterday. Prayers go out for comfort and healing. Sports is an outlet for many of us, to help us forget the tragedies and suffering in our own lives. We sometimes forget in our "heated" discussions and our ploys to be "right" on the board that as important as the Jackets are to us, there are other things in life which put things in perspective. We treat sports as a matter of life and death. It isn't. Far from it. Let's cherish life and what we have here among our fellow posters, and yes, even this lousy hockey team. Hug your loved ones and let's keep our perspective.

Prayers and sympathies to our friends and fellow Ohioians in Cleveland and Chardon. We feel your pain and we stand with you in your moments of grief.

You are a good man Fred Glover...

I was thinking similar things last night as I got really wound up knowing how badly our franchise has been mis-managed. "This too shall pass". Unfortunately for Ohio fans that have rooted for any of the Cavs, Browns, Indians, Bengals, Reds, Ohio State, Crew.. I am wondering when the worm turns.

I was thinking about this the other night and thought about trying to organize a giant "every sports fan in Ohio drink away your sorrows night." Indeed there are larger things to worry and cry about.

Rooting for a sports team and *****ing about them is a great outlet. Hopefully everyone realizes there are more important things to worry about. We live in troubled times and we need every bit of relief we can find.

We were talking with some neighbors last night about the team, and after a good half hour of venting someone pointed out that life is good when we have the energy to get worked up over a sports team. At the very least, I'll say the Jackets are good for drama and some excitement.

Or at least, we're easily distracted...

Sad things indeed. I wish that we could solve the problems with society that make these things happen.

Hopefully we don't have to wait for the Vulcans to arrive and fix things for us (although that is supposed to happen in only 51 years if Roddenberry was right )
