Very cool. I don't have a great knowledge base for scotch. I drink it on occasion (Laphroaig!) but generally am a Bourbon guy.

I got some very disturbing news about a friend today. And I don't know what to think or do or say. He's ordinarily someone I would talk to about something like this but I can't and I'm just at a loss. I just can't believe this. And I don't really want to go into details, but I wanted to say something somewhere.

I think I need to get drunk.

I hope your friend is going to be ok, and that whatever occurred is not something that changes the friendship. Too few good friends in a lifetime.

Too true. I lost my best friend of 47 years in recent months and I'm still a bit rudderless. Good luck getting through whatever it is WinSock.

I had a very close friend take her own life in April. The best advice I can give is that time certainly heals, and to be strong ... whatever the circumstance.

I have. And, believe it or not, but also being able to vent a bit on here (even as vaguely as it was ) helped. It's amazing what a forum like this can provide beyond the intended subject.

While my current circumstances are different, I've also been where you are and I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Your advice is perfect and I would echo it back to you.

I appreciate everything everyone has said!

It's nice when that happens, too. Good to see that we can do more than mock eachother for our ill-founded hockey opinions.

Glad to hear you've got someone to help work it out with.

My condolences and sympathies. Have been in that situation as well.

We tried this last year and it worked for awhile, but it was tough because everyone has different schedules. With the improvements to the game this year, it's possible that it works better. I'll join up.

I saw them at Vets in the late '60s. It must have been a truly memorable show, since there are parts of it I can even remember!

but they rocked it out & I was impressed with the sound @MSG. It's been 4 years ago now, but they played the Garden two nights then flew to London for a show. Jack Bruce, Clapton & Ginger rocked. Ginger had a few solo's that went on & on

I too saw Cream at Vets in the sixties. Ginger Baker lives in Colorado. When I lived in Vail, I used to see him play with a Jazz group pretty regularly. He's a helluva jazz drummer.

Vail is full of highly accomplished musicians sort of hiding out.
