Tomorrow morning, around 1:30 am, the Mars rover Curiosity is scheduled to go from 13,000 mph to Zero in seven minutes and land softly on the surface of the Red Planet. I'm wishing the best of luck to all involved in this spectacular mission. All the time, money, science, engineering, and planning invested in the project will come down to how a 2,000 pound robot behaves in the unpredictable atmosphere of a planet millions of miles away. Science fiction comes to life! Yeah, I'm pumped!!!

Enh, given how much study time we've had over there, I'm not sure if the atmosphere qualifies as any more unpredictable than the one we've got here.
Still, MOAR SPACE.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
A stick signed by the entire team before game 1 of the playoffs used to be mounted up on my wall, and nobody touched it. Now if holding it makes the baby happy, he gets it.

Indeed, kids trump all. I've quit playing hockey altogether - my favorite pastime - since my daughters came around.

Love conquers all, including paranoia.
If he gets to see that photo when he's older and recognize its significance... bonus points.
Yeah, I've felt guilty working on the CannonFest videos, even though I only try and do it when he's sleeping, or riding on my back in the backpack.
I wouldn't change a thing about it either, our kids are our world now.
On a similar topic (not that any of you know me personally ), I got some great career-oriented news today, in that I'll be starting a new job on August 27th. What that means for HFboards is likely less posting from me personally, but I'll still be jumping on fairly often to give some updates on WHL prospects and talk Jackets hockey in general. This is one of the few hobbies I can still keep up with!

Congrats. Wish you the very best.
Your input would be sorely missed were you to go dark. What ever you are able to share will be appreciated.
