I'm in an NFL fantasy league, any suggest good players to pick in the draft? No nothing other than a few players. Tim Tebow, Ben Rothlisberger (sp?) and Brett Favre are the only players I know. Although, I think Favre retired last season?
I'd say try to draft a top QB in the first 3 rounds. Also, don't take a Defense (D/ST) or Kicker (K) until the last 2-3 rounds. It's not very smart to take the "top" defense or kicker in round 8 or 9 to fill out your "starting" positions" because the difference between the top kicker/defenses and the average ones is always minimal. Focus on RB/WR early.
I think it'd be best for you just to follow some of these Top 250 lists on ESPN...
Adrian Petersen - RB
Peyton Hills - RB
Steven Jackson - RB
Beanie Wells - RB
C.J. Spiller - RB
Drew Brees - QB
Ben Roethlisberger - QB
Mike Wallace - WR
Percy Harvin - WR
Eddie Royal - WR
Roscoe Parrish - WR
Devin Hester - WR
Kellen Winslow - TE
Chicago Bears - DEF
Rian Lindell - K
Thoughts?
Not bad at all. Awesome RB/QB depth. TE, D/ST, K are all fine. WR depth is weak after Wallace...definitely look out for whichever WR has a breakout performance and try to claim them off waivers (if not claimed already) as the season progresses.
For having gone into the draft not knowing anything that's really good. I assume you were the top pick since you have AP. I'm guessing this is an 8-team league? I'm assuming that'd be the only way you were able to get SJax, Hillis, Brees, AND Mike Wallace as they're typically all gone by around 30. I really like Harvin this year, and Beanie has a lot of upside as well. Your TE's a little weak but he's still probably a low end TE1, you could probably use one more decent WR, and your bench is maybe a little weak, but overall this is a solid team.
