Probably the plane was not problem.

Agreed on the safety issues. I remember in Dave Kings book, he said they flew a plane that all of the players referred to as "pterodactyl" express on occasion. He said the players hated it because it was wobbly and old (not sure if in fact it was the same type of plane), but risks like this should not even be considered.

Just saw this on TSN.ca

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=375297

No confirmation yet as to who was on board, but thier article still lists Galimov as a survivor though so it doesn't appear to be that up to date.

EDIT: TSN is now reporting that the KHL has confirmed that Brad McCrimmon was on board the plane and amoung the dead.

Th eTSN article has been updated again to include the Czech players as well as confirmation from Latvian officials that Karlis Skarstins was also killed in the crash.

http://en.khl.ru/news/2011/9/7/24152.html

The above KHL article also confirms that Jan Marek and Josef Vasicek were on board.

Sorry for all the edits, but I keep finding other news stories with confirmations in it.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montre...ane-crash.html

According to CBC the Czech embassy confirmed that Karel Rachunek was killed in the crash as well.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=5...id=DL|NHL|home

NHL.com confirms that Pavol Demitra and Alexander Vasyunov were killed.

Confirmed list so Far:

Brad McCrimmon
Jan Marek
Josef Vasicek
Karel Rachunek
Karlis Skrastins
Pavol Demitra
Alexander Vasyunov
Stefan Liv
Ruslan Salei

Yes, but there are conflicting reports as to whether or not he was on the plane.

I heard that they hit a radio mast soon after lift off. Probably caused problems which caused the crash.

I'm crying now. I almost never do, but it's just horrible.

I pray for Alexander Galimov to survive and comeback to normal life.

Just thinking about Daniil Sobchenko, heart and soul of the Russian junior team. Those unbelievable moments he had during the November ADT Series, and then how can you forget his face when he was on the bench seconds before the end of the final. I have a tear coming every time I think of that moment.
