It just hits one extra hard today. Take care of your beloved ones, make sure they know you love them. Give them that extra hug, kiss etc.

I have to agree with those saying it is the worst offseason in hockey history. We need the season already. Maybe that's why the KHL is going on with their games anyway. Only way to move on from this is forward.

Life is a precious thing and it's mindboggling how there can be two different spectras to it.

Unreal. Thoughts and prayers to all affected by this tragic event. I'm extremely saddened by the loss of great human beings first and foremost, but also because the world lost some true talents today.

RIP team!
Congrats man!

At least something good can come out of today

How even two people came out of this is mind numbing. This is crazy.

Former New Jersey Devils forward Alexander Vasyunov also was among the dead, Devils GM Lou Lamoriello told ESPNNewYork.com. Vasyunov was 23.

"I don't think anybody can prepare for something like this," Lamoriello said. "It's just devastating news. Words can't express my personal feelings.

"I can't say enough about him as a young man. He certainly had talent. His whole career was in front of him."
from the ESPN article.

The airport had a 10,000 runway so over fueled really shouldn't come into play. As far as weight distributed wrong maybe if all the cargo and passengers were in the front of the plane they couldn't pull up enough but even then at half loaded I just can't see it without a secondary failure like an engine or hydraulics. The natural weight of the plane is rear heavy with 3 engines back there past the rear landing gear.
With a 10,000' runway the plane wouldn't need to use the flaps for take-off. Once you get larger than regional jets weight and balance (excluding maximum take-off weight) becomes less noticeable because of the stability of the larger aircrafts. I am by no means saying it is impossible, just unlikely. It's not as if there were 30 people in the front and 15 in the back that the plane would fall out of the sky. There were less than 50 total people on the plane so I can't imagine a scenario where this is an issue, although I do not know the specifics of this plane like the center of gravity. From the history of the plane that has been posted the plane just seems to have design flaws.

This is just a terrible tragedy. Vasyunov chose to go back to his home country to play hockey instead of here in North America and a month later is in a fatal crash.

Whatever Russia decides to do about the plane, the manufacturer, etc. is already too late considering the documented issues and the fact about the EU not allowing it in their airspace over safety concerns.

A big thank you to you all for wishing us luck! It definitely means a lot!

I don't want to disrespect the lives that were lost today, but I can't help but being excited. I cherish that little life we're expecting in February more now after hearing the terrible news about the crash.

I know I will tell my family how much I love them tonight. You should too.

And Saugs, no, we haven't found out and we probably won't want to know. We want it to be a surprise

Anyways, it is so bizarre to me to look at pictures of wrecks like this. It feels so weird to know that people were/are there in this ashes. Gives me shivers.

Links don't work... you copy/pasted them from somewhere, but you copied the shortened URL that is displayed on forums rather than the actual URL that you'd go to when you click the links.
