I know, I hate it when pages aren't found. It's always sad.

I hope the page that is to be found isn't horrific.

I am by no means saying it is impossible, just unlikely. It's not as if there were 30 people in the front and 15 in the back that the plane would fall out of the sky. There were less than 50 total people on the plane so I can't imagine a scenario where this is an issue, although I do not know the specifics of this plane like the center of gravity. From the history of the plane that has been posted the plane just seems to have design flaws.

This is just a terrible tragedy. Vasyunov chose to go back to his home country to play hockey instead of here in North America and a month later is in a fatal crash.

Whatever Russia decides to do about the plane, the manufacturer, etc. is already too late considering the documented issues and the fact about the EU not allowing it in their airspace over safety concerns.
I'm thinking more spoilers being still extended than flaps actually but most people here don't know what those are. If those were out - it's going nowhere but straight off the end of the runway at full power. Like you I just can't see a scenario where balance was so far out of whack at less than 50% loaded even with full fuel they couldn't control the plane. I'm going with engine failure + hydraulics/flight controls together. Those engines are strong enough to fly half loaded with 2 engines even on take-off after they pass the rejected take off point which would have been over 100 knots airspeed. Each engine produces 14,000+ lbs of thrust - going from 42,000 to 28,000 at <100 knots airspeed on a runway that long... It just doesn't add up. They could have used 10% flaps if they lost the engine after RTO was exceeded and had enough lift to limp around for an emergency landing (perhaps why they struck the beacon which created catastrophic flight control issues).

I'd feel uncomfortable getting on a flight in Russia now. This can't be the only unsafe plane that's being used despite being unsafe.

I do know alot about aviation myself and that theory is definately plausable if not correct.

Feeling lost this morning. Sick to my stomach to hear about #Lokomotiv. Alex Vasyunov was a good friend and person. Just so sad to hear...

Vasy used to call me "Magic Mac". I have no idea why but it always got a laugh out of me. He picked up English really quickly.

When Vitaly Petrov earned his 1st podium in F1, I texted Vasy the news. His response: "Russia the best!!!". Haha.

It's weird to think I that witnessed what was and will be Vasyunov's only career NHL goal in person...

It goes without saying that my thoughts go to the families hit by this, but I'd like to take a moment and feel for the fans of the team. I know that if we were to ever lose our Devils (literally lose), I'd be in shambles. This situation almost brings me to tears. I know that I'd be devastated if something were to happen to my team. Not because I selfishly love to watch them play my favorite sport, but because I feel an emotional connection with each player. I don't care if they know me or not, I feel like they are a part of my life and I know other fans feel the same way. So, I just want to say, my thoughts and condolences go out to the fans who lost not only players, but people who mean so much more than just guys playing a sport.

Some KHL players are now speaking out, suggesting the KHL postpones the first two games of the seasons to let players travel to Yaroslavl

That`s exactly what they should do.

Let everyone pay their respects. Even if they try to have the games everyone will be too emotional.

I feel so sad for the hockey societies of Belarus and Latvia that lost their most established player in Ruslan Salei and Karlis Skrastins respectively, along with everyone else of course.

Unbelieveable story. It's going to end up touching alot of people.

From what I understand the plane is cheap old junk, but that's not just exclusive to Russia as sports teams go.
