Will you buy an Authentic or Premier Jersey?

what's the difference between the 2 types of jerseys that can pre-ordered? one is over twice the price as the other.

Authentic = what they wear on the ice, fight strap and all.

Replica = self-explanatory

Don't ask me what accounts for the price difference.

In addition, all the patches are 100% real and sewed directly onto the jersey for the authentics. I have a Canucks 3rd replica and the shoulder patches aren't the real thing and the front logo is just glued on (it still looks awesome).

It's the quality of materials, etc. as well.

I was 100% committed to getting a $300 jersey... then I saw them yesterday. I am going to get both for $260. I'm not playing in the game so I can do without the fight strap.

The Replicas come with an annoying Jocktag and have shoulder patches made out of some plastic material. If you can afford a authentic go for it.

Authentic jersey have thicker "padding" at the shoulders and elbows, have a fight strap, and is in general, a heavier jersey. The name and numbers unlike the replica jerseys, are embroidered as well.

snip...

While replica jerseys feature screen printed names and numbers, authentic jerseys always feature embroidered lettering. Also, authentic jerseys are often reinforced with double shoulders and double elbows to withstand the wear and tear of a professional game, while replicas are comprised of look-alike—but not nearly as durable—polyester weave mesh.

Also, while replica jerseys may not always match precise team colors, authentic jerseys always do. In short, authentic jerseys are the exact product that professional players wear during games.

The 129.99 jerseys have embroidered numbers names and patches. At least all the ones I've seen at River City, Sportchek and Royal.

But what happens if the Jets ask you to play for them?

T-shirt. I can't afford to spill beer on an expensive jersey.

I would love an authentic, dont get me wrong. But at the end of the day I'd rather get two jerseys for the price of one.

Premier.

I have a Malkin and Kesler one that are both premiers and as long as you wash them inside out and hang them to dry, they don't fall apart.

My replica jersey doesn't have a screen printed name. Sewn on. I don't recall ever seeing a screen printed name on a replica hockey jersey. Football I've seen a lot

That was my belief as well. Just didn't want to outright say he was wrong

How much was the total for those two including the shipping? I've been trying to put aside the cash for a customized home jersey and don't know how much to do.

Premier jerseys aren't worth it for me. I bought a Sens one when the new RBK designs came out. The shoulder patches were cheap vinyl, and the material wore out in places, leaving three or four tiny holes.

Considering I plan on wearing this Jets jersey way more than I do my Sens one, it's worth it to get it done right.

The Canucks premier one I have doesn't have cheap vinyl shoulder patches. Neither does my Malkin one. Everything's good quality.

I am all about gamers. I want to own the player's jersey, so count me out for now. I'll be getting mine sometime in 2012.

Keep it. They have may or may not have value down the road. Either way they are a nicer looking jersey than the Jets jerseys.
