ya i dont see why we would send him down, we're gonna need another center, and i think he deserves a spot on the team with how he played last season before his injuries. someone would definetly claim him imo.

Jeffrey (knee) or Adams (appendectomy) may not be ready for camp, although both were expected to be. Who knows.

I don't want to waive him either, but if he's out for a month then it's just a matter of putting him on LTIR and by the time he's healthy someone else is bound to be injured.

Sid's done. This is his replacement.

At least Park won't torch us like he always seems to do.

Jagr went to Philthy and Kovy's gone, so we find... Park?

Don't know what the negativity is about. I was shocked nobody signed this guy last year, because he's a very useful checker and penalty killer at a cheap price.

He's not an agitator like Talbot, but I can tell you right now whatever role Max played on the ice, Park can do just as well, especially on the PK. This is a good signing.

Soo... He's going to WBS, right?

I don't know much about him, never followed him in his four years on the islanders. Is he worth signing?

People are getting bent over nothing. Competition in camp is a GOOD thing!

On the Jeffrey issue, Ian wrote in the top 20 prospects thread, that Jeffrey was likely to miss camp and the preseason, followed by a conditioning stint in WBS. Just sayin'

With Adams having an Appendectomy it's not a not a dumb move to bring in another 4th line vet. If anything it will pressure one of the younger guys to make the squad.

Put him on Vitale's wing and watch him rack up the secondary assists (primary assists on Vitale goals go to Vitale).

Sarcasm aside, he's not a bad guy to have in the system. He can center the 3rd or 4th line while Crosby's out, or be a depth guy who makes an instant positive contribution when he's called up from the AHL.

He's a small fast foward who had some success a few years back. He is like an older chris conner.

This is what I was getting at. Park isn't just a depth signing a la Ryan Craig or Brett Sterling. He's an NHLer. Yeah, he wasn't in the league last season but I am guessing it has mainly to do with the money he received from HC Geneve-Servette. And then he got bored over there and realized he's still NHL-material, so he has come back.

He's one of our best 12 forwards, and that's WITH Crosby. He's making this team. What still bugs me is why we re-signed Adams and Dupuis so bloody quickly. You can get bottom sixers in September. This is the proof.

"Park... to Vitale.... Joe Victory deeks, passes off the boards to himself as he dodges Pronger, spinning him like a top... looks, shoots... SCORRRRRES!"

The Cup is ours. The rest of the EC should just forfeit so we have some time to rest up for the Finals. I mean who are they kidding, attempting to play an 82 game schedule... as if it means something.

I made fun of the isles for resigning park 2 years ago. I was hoping it was a one day contract so that he could return as a penguin. At least its a 2 way contract so we don't have to see.him.

I just threw up in my mouth at the thought of having to watch an older version of Chris conner

After a year that we saw Sid, Gino, Staal, Letestu, Jeffrey all have pretty serious injuries, a little insurance on a 2-way deal is never a bad option. He will probably center our 3rd line in WB/S.

Jesus. He's better than Chris Conner. He puts up respectable numbers on 3rd-line minutes and he can kill penalties. He's a legitimate NHL contributor.

We needed more forward depth in WBS. With all the forwards that are questionable to to start the season up in Pittsburgh, if we lose Tangradi or Johnson or both to the big club we will be relying on ECHL guys. This is a good signing to shore up the WBS squad and fill in for injuries with the big club.
