he had a few gaffs in his own end in the first period but he looked good on our second powerplay and finished off a great play by couturier and schenn. definitely flawed but a goal ain't bad.

It's better than it started as.

He's the best defenseman overall so far.

He's better than expected in my opinion. Only slightly though. Good offense, crappy defense is about what I expected.

So how many points do Schenn and Couturier have, if any?

couturier got an assist on the second goal, believe that's the only point between them.

I can't remember, with the signing of Kessel, are we back up to 50 contracts?

I thought his contract termination made it 49, not 48. So yay, we might still be able to sign Couturier.

Noebels slides. Well, he will slide.

EDIT: We are actually at 50. I forgot Bacashihua. (52 total)

Noebels slides back to CHL. Hovinen overseas doesn't count.

Guys who are working the cameras are either:

1. Not guys, instead Pelicans with Parkinsons.
2. Really, really drunk.

It is 50 per the Daily News:

Quote:
Blake Kessel entered rookie camp on Tuesday not knowing the outcome - whether or not he could show the Flyers' brass enough in training camp to earn a spot in the organization.

On Wednesday, he was rewarded for his blind faith.

Kessel, 22, signed an entry-level contract with the Flyers, pushing them back up to the 50 contract limit on the same day that prospect Joonas Lehtivuori cleared waivers to begin the process of being released from his deal.

That didn't take long.

Kessel was featured in Wednesday's Daily News.

Kessel will join the Phantoms this fall under coach Joe Paterson. The 6-foot-2, 210 pound native of Madison, Wisconsin, withdrew from the University of New Hampshire in March after completing his junior season.

Kessel was a sixth round pick of the New York Islanders in 2007 but never signed with the team and his exclusivity with the Islanders expired in June.

Few players in the Flyers' organization have better bloodlines. Kessel is the younger brother of Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel and a cousin of Calgary winger David Moss. His sister, Amanda, is a forward for the US Women's National Team and plays for the University of Minnesota. Kessel's father, Phil Kessel Sr., was a Washington Redskins draft pick and spent his only NFL season on the injured reserve as a quarterback before playing in the USFL.
