Our defensemen in this game absolutely blow. Fact.

No crease control, they can't skate with their opponents, no physicality, they all handle the puck like it's a grenade, no outlet passes, and they're letting play games along the walls. It's ugly.

The forwards are carrying the load as far as outletting the puck. Laviolette's not going to like this.

Schenn and Couturier are the only ones on the team playing defense. Brown, Zolneirczyk, McGinn, Noebels, and Akeson are at least trying.

Akeson, Noebels, Schenn and couturier looked ok in that period. Brown with a monster hit in the end too.

We can safely say that laurdison has no offensive upside whatsoever lol

Our top two lines of forwards are actually pretty strong.

They're cycling the puck effectively, they're keeping the opposing defense chasing the puck, and they're getting opportunities.

Our defense is the clear problem in this game. They can't outlet out of our zone and they can't press when the puck is in the offensive zone.

In order of best forwards so far:

1. Akeson
2. Couturier
3. Schenn
4. Brown
5. Noebels
6. Ranford
7. McGinn

Zero is an overstatement.

He has negative offensive potential, and if he doesn't start moving his feat it's going to be a long season for him in the AHL.

im liking him too. Him and Schenn so far for me. Schenn looks like a better comparison,at first glance, imo to Clarke than Richards was compared to him. Just by the little Ive seen so far and much can change either bad or good granted, just an observation

It took 20 minutes into a pre-season rookie game for someone to compare Schenn to Clarke. Wow.

and Shafer, Laurdison doesn't look that bad a skater, and he has tremendous size which i'm guessing he uses. He might not be that bad a 3rd line guy.

He also had a changed design to fit with the CHL team.

He's not a bad skater. He's not really a good skater either. He looks slow; extremely slow.

I'd agree with that list. Harry Z I'd put 8th
