I will defer to the experts on this game. I'm sure if you are super into the franchise and play it religiously, you already love it, and notice all of the changes.

I played NHL's 94-2009. I used to love it. I guess I just tired of the same old. They do make changes, and to a real afficianado I would imagine its pretty impressive. I suppose I just outgrew it.

I agree with Gump. I am very excited for BF3, along with Rage and Saints Row 3 (bust a gut fun!) I am also patiently waiting for the next Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. I enjoy the Tom Clancy games.

PS Guerzy if you have a 360 you can have my NHL12 for 50 bucks

Things that annoy me so far:

The goalies often play the puck outside of the trapezoid more than they do in real life. A lot of penalties for this.

In be a pro mode I, center the first line, yet the coach never puts me in for a shootout. I mean he'll go through the entire roster aside from me.

The commentary is buggy. When I come back on the ice the commentator always says '...penalty has expired, back to even strength' etc, when there was no penalty. I was just off my shift.

The automated line changes in BAP mode are terribly timed.

Body checking seems very difficult now, guess I just need to practice. On the other hand you don't get nearly as many penalties for poke/stick checking that you used to.

this is the opinion of someone who isnt into videogames.

Someone who enjoys hockey, and playing a SIMULATION hockey game, will notice the dozens of improvements over the past 3 years. NHL11 won just about every sports game award last year for its improvements. I can see NHL12 taking most of them again.

The improved player physics, the puck physics, the goaltenders being fair game, the legends mode, the deeper eashl, all are reasons to get this game, even if you owned NHL11.

Oh, and the Jets are in it too.

EA hasn't made a good game since 07? Oh my goodness.. what?! The NHL series established themselves as "the" hockey game with NHL 08.

Btw.. I also cannot wait for BF3.. I played BC2 religiously and it's too easy sometimes now

I really, sincerely wish EA would add your uniforms to the game already! I understand it's probably more 'efficient' for them to wait for every team to unveil whatever sweaters they've yet to show off, but man, do I want these jerseys. EA needs to get ON it.

The one thing that stood out the most is the physics engine in nhl 12, It has greatly improved in comparison to previous years. The skating, the physical contact, just about everything just seems smooth and realistic.

Also the AI is a lot smarter in anticipating plays - having a difficult time on superstar BAP right now.

its taking longer because the reebok edge jersey template they used is a brand new template, and they have to write it into the game. The number and name font is also something that needs to be written in as well, as no other team uses that either.

I played Religiously until 08 - 09... the games just got worse every year and Now after Playing NHL 12 tonight I can say that they have out done them selves and made the worst hockey game ever!!! That is NOTHING like the game of hockey... the skating is garbage, the passing is sooooo slow and feels like you have hands of stone the game is a Joke

Seriously, were you playing the right game? Because the vast majority of us have completely differing opinions on this game than you do....

Yeah.. the game is far more realistic... passing is slower because not every pass in real life is a total rocket and 100% accurate.. not everybody can dangle successfully now.. skating looks weird but has an element of realism than all the other NHL games before it didn't have.

Btw... Enstrom's overall rating is an 84. Come on...

Enstrom just got 5 points in a game I played last night, 3 goals and 2 assists! I think I might have to turn it up from All-Star to Superstar soon, but the first game I played on Superstar, Toronto went 9 for 9 on the powerplay against me! Kind of scared me off a bit!

EA said they only have enough $$ to release one patch this year that will "fix" bugs like; disappearing players/EASHL leveling problem/Hip-Check bubble/Jets Jerseys/Florida jerseys/etc.. Also it will not be released until November at the earliest.

It was NHL10 that won 22 awards, NHL11 did not win any awards.

I was highly disappointed in the NHL12 demo but bought the game and so glad I did.. Best hockey game yet.

How does EA not have enough money to release more than one patch?

They released a bunch of patches last year, no way it's true.

Agreed, the EA franchise isn't some indie gaming company that's struggling to break even. And their revenue is approximately 3.5 billion, so yeah.

best game ever. Anyone who thinks recent EA NHL games are bad, should probably stick to the horrible NHL2k series. Oh wait, they dont make those anymore? I wonder why that is...

The changes made to the modes I play aren't really significant. I understand it's hard adding things to a game year after year but they really need to think of something bigger than breakinng glass and checking over the boards. I have to admit I don't play EASHL or HUT but the modes I do play (Be a Pro, Be a GM) leave me wanting more.

I'm also not a fan of the skating update they did , and checking is very wonky.
