What am I missing here?

He was a late round pick, and he's very young. What am I missing?

Don't think you know what you're talking about.

Yogan played a good game. He did the things he normally does. Goes to the net, plays strong on the boards, plays a physical game.

And goal scoring isn't his thing because he didn't score in one game? I guess scoring isn't Thomas' thing, either.
Nah i know nothing about the game spot on buddy. Dont embarrass yourself. I have a right to my opinion on a player i jus as easily could say the same thing about u for not agreeing with me but I'm not 12 so rather keep it on the players.

Yogan is not an nhler IMO at least not a good one. Like i said MAYBE Jason ward if he's lucky

Now Thomas he's an nhler very soon

Bourque if he can stay healthy will be as well

Mcilrath def will be he's a monster just needs to season

Erixon forget it he'll be in our top 4 by December if not sooner.

One major drawback to MSG televising the games. Everyone is an expert. Like the yahoos who look at 9/11 tapes and come up with conspiracy theories. What's that black object? See that spark. See that light.

I am VERY thankful YOU are not in the developing department for the Rangers.

One game and YOU SEEN ENOUGH? Especially a game where the kids had ONE practice together and this is their first game?

Come on now. You expected to see players develop plays together like it was mid January already? I hate to see what you say about some Ranger players in Training camp this year. It usually looks like a MESS the first game or two.

Stop acting like you know talent. You see one game and you seen enough. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE ASSET MANAGEMENT.

TRADE THEM ALL!

On another note, Erixon and Richards at the points on the PP would look like gold.

He really was very calm and knew exactly what to do: pass, shoot, switch sides, etc.

Can't wait to see the PP this year.

Yea, 87 was pretty sloppy and letting that 2 on 1 happen.

I really wanted to see McIlrath fight, but that McNaught and Beach fight was great.

McIlrath was a C, Hagelin was an A, and I don't know who or if there was a 3rd.

Surprising. I'd have given one to Bourque over Niemi, but that's just my opinion. Also not sure about McIlrath as the captain over Hagelin.

Players who get chances and don't finish, don't make the NHL. The are career AHL players who put up good numbers in the AHL. So to me, Yogan was not impressive. Also, take into account he's playing against goalies who are either not NHL ready or simply aren't any good.

Have you seen Chris Higgins?

He has been in the NHL for quite a long time.

That's right, Niemi.

Can't wait for game 2... the idea of televising this was an awesome idea.

For the many who can't visit the teams these guys play for, this is a good viewing of how skilled they are and what types of players they are.

Top 3 players of the game:

Erixon
Parlett
Thomas

Honorable Mention to McIlrath

Disappointing performances:

Ceresnak
McColgan
Miller

Honorable mention to St. Croix

For a majority of the board who thinks JT Miller is ONE OHL season away from NHL play...that game I think showed me why I'm not expecting a huge OHL season out of JT this year. Obviously only one game and I'm excited to see how he comes back on the ice tonight after a game of getting his feet wet. But that did not look even close to a player who is one season away from the NHL.

I think Bourque showed a bit more than Thomas. Thomas didn't stand out all that much. He had some killer speed bursts and had a few good shots, but Bourque was all over the place and just seemed to be very good. If Bourque didn't have size problems, I'd pencil him in for a spot within the next two years.

Will be making a game two gdt when I get home, fwiw.

McIlrath impressed me greatly. One word came to mind watching him: poise.

Parlett was very impressive as well.

Ah, okay. But he scored TWO goals in his FIRST AHL game. Which, by your logic... my God, he must be the second coming of Gretzky!

But then he didn't score at all in this game. He must be a horrible, ******, career AHLer.

Given your strict rules on what determines who will be a successful NHL player and who won't, the paradox presented by Yogan's performances in two different games must be causing your head to explode.

So awesome to watch hockey again...

Players who stood out to me after first watch were Erixon and Hagelin.
